  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Scott is in San Francisco, but sometimes it requires some interpretation/clarification. :D We are working to close the remaining gaps in EREV and BEV development and market launch. Scott is confirming that we have more EREV reservations (the safer choice for many people on the fence about an...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

We have said publicly that we have more reservations for EREV than we do for BEV. That said, the final production sequence still needs to be nailed down before we make any official announcements on rollout timing. As most of you know, we started development of our BEV first. EREV is no small...

    Solid State Battery that's baked

This is a good read and summary of the current state of solid state batteries. Overall mass production and reasonable cost are still a ways out. But it is moving.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

The concepts are missing a number of details that will be in the regular production vehicles. In the case of the bench seat, it is missing not only an adjustable center headrest, but seat belts and a fold-down arm-rest with cup holders and storage. Since these concepts are hand built, there were...

Exclusive: Hyundai Mobis in talks with Volkswagen-owned Scout on multibillion-dollar deal

Speculation at this point. We will release more information on battery packs when the time is right.

Are you OK with Scout vehicles starting under $60K?

When Scott said profitable he was referring to the fact that we wouldn’t sell each vehicle at a loss in terms of piece cost. The larger $4-5 billion investment to get everything off the ground will take years to pay down and recoup.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

We didn't ask for anything in this case (and that headline, content and site are just patently biased). The county had cost overruns on their end doing work to prepare the land to build a factory.

A fun tool to compare Traveler BEV vs. EREV routing

I appreciate your offer. We have a pretty robust test team, but let's see if we get out that way once we start making some pre-production vehicles.

A fun tool to compare Traveler BEV vs. EREV routing

Good question honestly. I think in general, as we have firm numbers and decisions, we will start to share more information. EREV is more complex and newer technology to a lot of people, so there is probably more education there. So let's see how things go, but everything is moving along. (y)
