  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Battery Capacity Options

This is what my AWD ID.4 does technically. It only engages all 4 wheels if a certain amount of acceleration is needed or if I have it in the Sport/All-Terrain modes.

    Battery Capacity Options

With the announcement that the Terra/Traveller will have around a 120-130kWh battery in them to get the 350 miles of range, I'd be curious how much more it would cost to push it to a 450 mile range. Some basic napkin math would put a 160kWh battery around that range (splitting the difference of...

Some form of Flex Gate on the Terra

I'd love to see a tailgate option that is similar to GM's Flex Gate, where there's a separate part that can fold down for an extra step or could be used to extend the bed by a few inches.

Hey guys, Washington state is starting to look at removing the ban on direct-to-consumer sales of vehicles via bill HB 1721 and SB 5592. Please voice your desire to enact these by following this link for a pre-done message, or from the bill's pages. It sounds like these have bi-partisan...

Hot take: 18-22" Wheels on Base Model

I know everyone is thrilled to be getting an amazing offroading capable EV Truck/SUV, but I would like to put out there as well, having a "sub" $60k EV truck with 350 miles at all is amazing. I'd like to push that even further though, with smaller tires/wheels on the base model. Personally, I...

    Range and Competitiveness

The more charge cycles you put on any rechargeable battery, the shorter the life span. Sure, level 2 charging vs DC fast charging isn't going to be as big of a hit, but that repetitive strain will add up over time. Another part is I also don't want to have to charge every night in that...

    Range and Competitiveness

Sure, but then you're putting more wear on the battery by charging it nightly. The gas is just charging the battery via the generator, we don't know much about specs or what the actual rate is, but my guess is it will do a really good job at stretching the battery over the course of that 500...

Does Scout Motors Need A Challenge Coin Too?

    ...I'd like a Scout challenge coin ?

    Range and Competitiveness

The average day can fluctuate with the temperature though. Normally in my ID4, I'd be able to handle 35 miles one way on 10%. Yesterday, I blew through almost 15% due to how cold it was. Having a higher range on the battery isn't a bad thing if they can manage not to compromise the overall range...

I'm out in the Port Orchard/Bremerton area, hoping to see a service center on this side of the bridge at least!

    Range and Competitiveness

True, I suppose I'm going under the assumption that the base model is going to be geared towards more of a hybrid between a typical SUV and an offroading SUV. Do you have any information on the Jeep Recon by chance? It looks like Jeep had posted a video on it, but the video became private and I...

    Range and Competitiveness

I agree that for non-towing, 350 miles is fine. My ID.4 gets on average 280 and for general commuting and trips around the state, it's perfect. I'm not even saying these trucks need to match ICE trucks in terms of range (though that would be great), I just want to see them consistently break...

    Range and Competitiveness

I totally agree. ICE vehicles will always have their place in the market, and maybe this is just one of the instances where they'll have sole control until a massive battery breakthrough occurs. I'm just hoping they can get 400 on full EV. I've been driving an ID.4 for almost 2 years now and...

    Range and Competitiveness

This is just my two cents on the current range estimates for both full EVs and the Harvester models compared to current offerings, particularly from Chevy for the Terra comparison and several EV SUVs from other competitors for the Traveler. Starting with the Terra, if we're truly seeing this as...
