  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Locking Differentials Question

My expectation is that it will be similar to JK Rubicon, lockers are manually selectable front, rear or both, plus swaybar disconnect that can be activated under specific conditions (low spd, 4 Lo etc.)

Entry Model Specs, Premium Model Price?

The stated 12-18 months until we get some real sense of trim levels and pricing is going to feel looooooong, lol.

    Crazy Overlanding Idea

There was a bespoke tent available for the OG Scout II that enclosed the tailgate area, held in place with magnets. Made sleeping in the back pretty easy with rear seat folded forward, I was stoked to get one with my first Scout II, a '78. Something like that could be cool as well since a...

    Brake pedal behavior: Preference?

As an amputee I would like 2 pedal driving at least as an option, it takes a lot of fine muscle control to work the gas pedal.

Entry Model Specs, Premium Model Price?

Would be great if we get true a la carte options that are not only available as part of specific trim packages - but we're all still putting the cart before the horse since we won't have more solid pricing I suspect for 18 months at best. My JKU is in great shape so I am not in a hurry - if I...

    Removable Doors

I'd love removable doors with SSII style inserts and maybe soft doors an aftermarket option.

Entry Model Specs, Premium Model Price?

So a couple additions to my post above is that we don't know what the election result will do yet for incentives, the overall market, or for consumer confidence. My guess is incentives continue, protective tariffs come in for foreign EV's (and other cars), and talk of Federal EV mandates go...

Entry Model Specs, Premium Model Price?

It's too early to say where the price ends up - besides, the clear message from the hundreds of millions of dollars of unmoving inventory on failing dealer lots everywhere right now is a pretty clear message that price points simply MUST come down. Battery tech is improving driving cost and...

Entry Model Specs, Premium Model Price?

Has SM actually committed to different pack sizes other than between standard and Harvester/EREV?

    Scout Trims

Fully spec'd offroad version has to be SSII.

FNG, with no to little knowledge about EV's

Iconic brand - check Striking retro-modern design - check Partnered with industry-leading 'competitor' for OS and architecture - check Backed by bazillion dollar multi-national manufacturing conglomerate - check Advertising that hits you right in the feelz/nostalgia bones - check But seriously...

    Crazy Overlanding Idea

I'd expect the efficiency hit to be way less for an aerodynamic roof top camper shell vs a trailer, and since the Traveler is quite a bit larger than a JKU it could be pretty roomy, add in the Frunk and gigantic (by comparison) cargo area and it might work really well. Big ass battery down low...

    Crazy Overlanding Idea

Traveler Harvester with Cabana Roof option, combined with a Scout specific low profile camper top like the Ursa Minor or Hatchet, apologies for ridiculously bad photo hack...

    Aftermarket concept rendering

Nice The body lines are probably going to make Rallye stripes really hard to implement but I hope it gets figured out, absolute necessity for me.

    Living with EV

What I am telling you is that I have spent hours and hours evaluating the information I can find and it is not all rainbows and unicorns - it also not purely bad news. This is why I asked for, and am grateful for getting, some real world experience to aid in my understanding. The fact is that...

    Living with EV

Since the reveal and and in support of making my decision to place a reservation for a Traveler Harvester I have watched dozens of YT's from guys who are clearly EV owners and fans and they were seeing repeated issues where thermal management for the vehicle (R1T, R1S, Hummer EV, and...

Speculation Alert - possible Harvester Engine Choices

Porta potty only under a bench, the camper is inflatable, pretty cool.

Speculation Alert - possible Harvester Engine Choices

Planning to buy an Opus Lite early next year, low profile, about 2,500 lbs - seen Rivian R1S tow it with about an 18% range hit if memory serves.

Speculation Alert - possible Harvester Engine Choices

Speaking for myself, below is to explain my focus on the Harvester vs pure EV. Totally agree that 80% of my driving is my 8 mile roundtrip commute to work, no brainer for pure EV even without charging stations at the office. But for the other 20% of my driving I am accustomed to being able...

Speculation Alert - possible Harvester Engine Choices

For me, Harvester must match the pure EV for performance, in that still tow up to 7,000 at highway speeds. Of course range will be reduced - if combined range is 350-400 when towing it will be perfect, especially if you can just continue by filling up the gas tank.
