  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Beautiful previews of Traveler on 37's + winch off-road bumper + roof rack ?

I agree with this. I have 31's on my Samurai and it is more than enough, but I also understand heavy EV is going to need much larger rims to fit the necessary larger brakes and I rather have more tire than rim. We will have to see what fits under there.

EV Fires - Did You Know?

Same thing with a gas fire. As a side note most EV companies keep their vehicles connected to the cloud and monitor and can predict issues before they happen versus a standard internal combustion engine can have a fuel or oil leak and no one is going to know if it is too late. In my experience...

    No regenerative braking!!!!!!!

For Audi world, that is exactly what the paddles do on the E-trons, changes the force of regen. I'm in the camp of city driving is great for single pedal driving, but good tuning is required. Freeway it would be nice to be able to change it to brake pedal required for regen as I do have the...

    Suggestion: Autonomous Driving Mode

I would like to see scout ignore most of the ADAS trends short of what can be accomplished with very basic cameras and sensors. Adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist should be standard, entry level cars have that. A decent backup camera. MAYBE parking sensors, but leave it at that. I...

    CLOSED! Audio System Brand Poll

Just make them easy to replace and service and it won't matter. Offer an easy upgrade like the Helix sub upgrades from VW past.

EV Fires - Did You Know?

Biggest issue with EV fires is like you said, difficult to put out and contain especially when compared to traditional gas powered vehicles. However that really comes down to emergency personal not being equipped to address it, but processes are getting better...

    What did you reserve?

Generator under the rear floor. If I was a guessing man, it is a standalone engine using the rear drive units inverter to step up the voltage to 800V to charge the battery. Probably similar for the NACS charging as that also needs to be stepped up. (Tesla chargers only pumping out 480V) ~1:30 on...

Real 4X4 with SOLID AXLES would be LEGEND!

Was part of the video, Independent Front Suspension with solid axle rear. IFS is safer and easier to manufacture. Doesn't surprise me at all. Death wobble is not fun to tune around. By the looks of this, Inverter and Drive unit are part of that rear axle so not like you can just shove a dana...

Say hello to the new Scout® Terra™ Truck and Scout® Traveler™ SUV

Reserved! Here is hoping for locations in the PNW! Can't imagine skipping out on the Seattle market, but I know first hand the direct to market brands are a struggle with the laws here. Put your sales in Portland and your Service near Seattle and you should be good!

    What did you reserve?

Wife said SUV. Traveler with range extender. Curious to see how the pricing goes though. Starting at ~$50k can very quickly climb when it comes to batteries and options. ID. Buzz starting out at $60k and quickly hits $70k without a generator or nearly the range.

LED Lighting for the New Scout EV Vehicle

LED should be standard in this day and age throughout the vehicle. I also agree standard 7” rounds as even if the lights aren’t to someone’s taste, all JW speaker or Morimoto need to do is add a connector harness to existing designs.

    Door Handles

Oh certainly. Still love the products, but there’s always room for improvement. No brand is perfect and it’s only getting more difficult the more we add technology to these computers with wheels under them. Now that I’m on the corporate/engineering side of the auto industry I respect the flaws...

    Door Handles

I was a tech with Audi for almost 10 years. I love the VAG and still drive their products. Much is missed in recent years though. Prime example the evaporators on current generation Q5 that require the windshield to be removed to access one bolt. That should have been caught and corrected very...

    Door Handles

I sit in packaging meetings on a regular. Biggest suggestion I can offer is to make sure you have service teams in the packaging meetings early. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve said “what if that part fails, how do I remove it?” Or “That part might not fail, but the part under will, what is...

    Door Handles

You are correct on the aerodynamic aspect of the flush handles. However, there are many designs over the years that are flush without making them flimsy plastic buttons that automatically present. Many exotics come to mind like Mclaren. As for examples of semi traditional type door handles...

    Door Handles

Normal Door Handles! Every EV startup is trying to mimic Tesla and going to the hidden door handles with capacitive touch open/close with cinching motors on the latches. Gimmicks that fail often and aren’t needed. I believe this vehicle would be better served with a nice robust handle and latch...

    Powertrain Wants

I work in the EV space, we want this to be full EV. The complexity of engineering ICE into this for only 10 years worth of production time would ruin this vehicle. The reason so many startups are succeeding where OEM’s are failing is the ability to design around a skateboard not retrofit where...

    Manual Transmission

I love me a manual transmission, but I am also in the camp of an unnecessary expense. We don’t need another $100,000+ EV.

    powered frunk

Powered is nice and all, but especially with the front, the complexity makes them very fragile and very expensive. For a vehicle I want to off-road, I’d rather have buff manual latches with non-powered struts.
