  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

The Garage (What did you work on today?)

Finally got my Blazer back from GM after more than a week of them holding it. Since it's getting close to 36k miles and we have a long trip coming up, I sent it in for some bumper-to-bumper warranty work. I got new vents, a mirror cap replaced, and a brand-new infotainment screen (that still has...

What's it like to take a road trip in a truck like the Terra (F-150 Lightning)?

You make some good points and as someone with way too many years in GM (specifically Chevrolet) I can understand all the issues faced and precived. Everything except Android automotive, but I rely on my phone for work so my view and way of using my car and mapping is skewed differently, I've had...

    Off-topic stuff…

Saw this at cracker barrel and kinda wanted to buy it

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

The Blazer has it all, sensors, Birds Eye, tilt (while virtually pointless with 20-30 second timer) and a digital center rear view. But when it’s active I do find a good amount of use in the tilt

    Off-topic stuff…

I wish I had the space time and knowledge to be able to avoid that place, I like that they offer mobile service for tire rotations now, but they just get under my skin. That said, I still can't find anything showing they actually updated my software, but after some searching it seems most if...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I think an on screen toggle would give the best of both, with the optional down and up based on what your actively doing, like backing in my garage down the entire time, but parking lots and trails sometimes normal is better just very situational, but the 30 second return on the vehicles I’ve...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I don’t know how common “auto tipping” mirrors are, where they aim down when you put the vehicle in reverse, I’ve only been in three vehicles that did it or at least had it turned on, and the blazer has options for L, R, or both and for some vehicles it’s great to be able to see the wheels when...

    Off-topic stuff…

I dropped my car at the dealer yesterday morning at 10 AM. My car was moved inside to a bay at 5 PM (one hour before they close the service center). My car stayed their all night, they open at 8 AM for service work, they called me at 8:50 AM to tell me I was right, there was an update and they...

    Off-topic stuff…

It had an update when I got it home, attempted to install it and it came back as failed multiple restarts later it never came back, so if there is an update on the dealers can push it. And there’s a newer version of android automotive, the car is running 12, the 25 models run 14 and there’s not...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

The best easter egg would be the classic face (the circle headlamps and rectangle grille) hidden somewhere in the vehicle, and it'll be for those who know, but also subtle enough not to be "tacky"

    Off-topic stuff…

Unfortunately, I can say with a high level of certainty that the "day or two" has nothing to do with the EV/SoftWare... We have the misfortune of this being our only GM dealer for hours in any direction, I took the Bolt in for a rotation and was told it could be a day, we took the volt for the...

    Carplay unconfirmed?!

For some. It's a rolling update, but as of last week, when I last used it in AA before the Blazer, I did not have access to that update

    Off-topic stuff…

I just got home from taking the Blazer to a dealership to see if it has any available updates for the car itself or the Android Automotive OS. When I pulled in, they couldn't tell me anything just asked if there was anything wrong with my car, reiterated that I can't get CarPlay, took my key and...

    Carplay unconfirmed?!

I do think Waze has the best version of "up ahead," with a lot more detail when you make a report, and while Google and, to some extent, Apple have these features, the fact that you have to be actively navigating a route to see the up ahead or current speed is just absurd
  15. RodorW

    Carplay unconfirmed?!

I don't disagree; I've found it's possible to run Google Maps on the cluster screen with Waze open on the infotainment in the Blazer, but the car isn't a big fan of doing it
  16. RodorW

    Carplay unconfirmed?!

If Waze had building outlines it could be almost perfect, Google and Apple allow to count the houses before the address your looking for, it’s not always necessary, but sometimes you go to places that don’t have the addresses on the outside of the house for whatever reason or no mailbox or it’s...

    Carplay unconfirmed?!

This is how I feel and getting to experience mapping on the phone and just sending it over to the car from anywhere is great. I do acknowledge the Blazer is using Android Automotive, so all my Google apps work decent enough but phone integration for calls and texts works just as good as Android...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Hard to say personally, we didn't test the 25 they had on the lot. I haven't looked much into it though. There is one part about it that makes it very annoying. More so than just not having one pedal in reverse while having the vehicle in one pedal. But when you put it in reverse, the one pedal...

    Carplay unconfirmed?!

Personally I don’t use Apple for anything other notes and my insurance trip tracking, I don’t care much for Spotify either. I pay for YouTube premium, with family benefits, no ads, ect.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I don’t understand what we do differently, but when my partner drives and puts it in reverse it rolls pretty much effortlessly they can just hover over the brake pedal. I have to tap the accelerator every time to get it going, and it just lurches so hard I don’t understand how removing one pedal...
