  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Scout Pricing and State Rebate Programs

Scout Terra Debuts in New Silo Color and Retheme

Jamie- would the team consider resurrecting the 70s Scout color "Mayan Mist?

Scout Traveler Debuts in New Pacific Mist Color

I'm gonna request that terra cotta interior when it comes time to put it on paper......I'll sacrifice a hunting trip to pay for that upgraded package.

Scout Pricing and State Rebate Programs

If that becomes the case, VW will learn an expensive lesson and we'll just go somewhere else. For me, I'll go back Scout dumpster diving and resurrect an old Scout to keep mine company. I'll get nothing else.....well....maybe a late '30s IHC pickup to keep my '55 IH R100 restomod and '70...

Scout Pricing and State Rebate Programs

If production is slated to begin late 2027, my guess is the first 200,000/250,000 pre-orders probably won't be fulfilled until early 2029. There will be ramp up and initial start-up hiccups what will impede productivity initially. .......I certainly hope not, but time will tell.

Scout Pricing and State Rebate Programs

All I know is that I have time to save until then, to make the outstanding amount palatable for me. Keep in mind that the price has to be competitive with the competition to even garner interest, or Scout will be short lived.

    Ability to Fit a Snowplow

If the Scout doesn't offer the accessory, I still have the original plow on my 1970 800B. I'd be willing to see if it could be retro-fitted safely without destroying the Scout's structural integrity.

    Rivian Rs2 vs Scout Traveler

I know this is a little dated thread, but I think those who were motivated enough to pre-order the Scouts are Scout lovers, or like myself, OG Scout. I was looking at the Rivians until VW announced their Scout resurrection-SOLD!
