  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    EREV initial release only?

Scott Keogh said they first noticed popularity of EREVs in China in 2023. They then reacted with Harvester option. In the meantime, Ford and Stellantis was probably looking at the same thing and then boom they are bringing truck EREVs. These companies are fully aware of happenings in the market...

    EREV initial release only?

Scott says they WILL make the BEV Terra and his logic to sell the EREV first based on reservations is not wrong. Scout WAS an EV start-up but was hoping the VW group provides shade while going through growing pains as an EV start-up but that's not the case anymore. Tesla, like them or not, was a...

    EREV initial release only?

Here's one of sources: https://insideevs.com/news/785636/scout-motors-range-extender/ I didn't watch the Bloomberg video referenced in the article but the launch of the EREV first is making rounds on other sites. I was really hoping Scout would launch off the Rivian R1. Modern software on top...

    EREV initial release only?

That would be Scott Keogh. I agree there's more complexity adding a gas engine at this point. Also, VW Group just paid a truckload (pun intended) for Rivian's architecture and Scout trucks would be perfect as first to use this but Rivian's zonal architecture is BEV based so this again raises the...

    Initial Production Release

Wondering how the Rivian architecture that VW group paid a truckload for will be adapted for a gas engine. Adding more complexity to the Rivian zonal architecture that is based purely on BEV.

    EREV initial release only?

The boss just sad Harvester first. So Silverado EV is my option now cause it has a 5.5 ft bed. If Scout is basing decision ratio of reservations, I think it's a misinterpretation. EVs are no longer as much a mystery. With more and more EV trucks out there reservations are no longer a predictor...

    Initial Production Release

So it's almost true that the Harvester EREVs will be made first. Based on widely reported reservations of 150,000, hypothetically and assuming all rez are converted to purchases, Scout will sell 122,500. Looks like a Silverado EV, not EREV, will be an option for me now. Was really looking...

    Initial Production Release

Also for what it's worth I'm happy to be early adopter for the ASSB from VW/Quantumscape.

    Initial Production Release

Thanks Jamie. Thought I'd throw my two cents in just in case Scout was sending out feelers. It's reported (false or true) that EREV rez out numbered BEV but I'm not buying a Rivian cause I had seen the Terra specs to be more truck based chassis wise. To me if someone is going off grid and really...

    Initial Production Release

I'm hearing that Scout will produce EREVs first. Very disappointed. My reservation was for BEV. I hope that the VW/Quantumscape ASSB will drop into the Scout.

    Slide In Camper Ready

The TFL video is a topper setup not a slide in camper setup. Toppers sit on top of the box not on the bed so they are attached differently and have weight distribution considerations. Would love the Terra to consider slide in campers like anchor points, optional air suspension (self leveling)...

    Slide In Camper Ready

I've had a brief convo with Scout campers about their Tuktuk camper which is designed for 5' beds. https://scoutcampers.com/hard-wall/tuktut/. They are willing to see if it will work on R1T but I wasn't going to buy a R1T just to find out it doesn't work. The Tuktuk was design for 5 ft beds like...

    Slide In Camper Ready

Will the Terra be ready for slide in campers? Other current EV trucks are either silent or specifically state that their EV trucks are not recommended for slide in campers. There's a huge market for this capability. There's a lot of discussions about toppers and towing but not much about slide...
