  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    SCOUT TRAVELER FAQ

I may be mistaken, ut I thought user-customizable low speed sounds for an SUV were illegal. Personally, I think the sound from the vehicles in the old Jetson's cartoon would be a hoot, but I'm sure I'd get sick of it after a while. (How many of us who are getting up there in years would...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Some aftermarket LED headlights are being sold with heated lenses - more efficient than heating the housing. IMO, that should be mandatory for LED headlights. It's just unsafe for a vehicle that is used in cold weather areas to go without.

How about a cheap version that i can actually take offroad

It's been fun to own. There are a couple of downsides: I can't get away with anything, since everyone in town knows who it is when they see it go by. I have to allow an extra 1/2 hour or more every time I take a trip in to town, since someone always wants to ask about it, or some Korean or...

How about a cheap version that i can actually take offroad

It's definitely got character, which is a big part of why I got it. That sense of character is also a big part of why the Scout interests me (along with some interesting technical specs.)

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Everything I've heard about infrared/radiant heaters is that they work fairly well in open or large areas where you want to focus the heat on a specific area (such as a porch or deck when you want to get some heat to your seating area, or heating a workstation in a warehouse which is kept much...

How about a cheap version that i can actually take offroad

The main concern I had with the Slate truck is that it's only rated for towing a max of 1000#. I regularly tow 5-6000 pounds with my Dodge M37 (hauling a trailer full of logs or firewood, or a small dump trailer full of stone or gravel). Usually, when I'm towing those loads, I don't need to go...

How about a cheap version that i can actually take offroad

This was how I addressed the need for a stone simple, no frills gas vehicle that I use for working in the woods and hauling stuff in its bed. It's not something I'd take on a long trip with any regularity (longest drive so far was about 320 miles round trip). No radio, no sound insulation, no AC...

What do you all do? Curious about Scout buyers occupations, or former occupations.

I've worked in manufacturing almost all of my working life, for a company that makes steel wire and heat treats it, selling mainly to spring makers. Started as an assistant to the plant engineer, moved to shift supervisor in one of our production departments, shifted into new product development...

Entry Model Specs, Premium Model Price?

I assumed he was saying that HE would delay buying his OWN vehicle, not that the company should idle their plant.

    Custom External Sounds

If the volume was limited to something similar to the "awareness" sounds emitted by many EVs now, that might make it more acceptable, though I can still see the concern about people choosing obnoxious sounds reflecting badly on the Scout brand. Still, it would be cool to have my Scout sound...

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

I have absolutely ZERO interest in owning a vehicle with self driving capability.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Maybe it's just the angle from which they took the picture, but that plow looks too narrow for the vehicle. If you angle it, will it still cover the vehicle's width? Now that I look at it, will it even angle more than a few degrees without hitting the bumper?

    Community events?

Any plans for a visit to Vermont/New Hampshire/Northeastern NY? I'm also in Central NY and MA from time to time, could plan a visit for when I know the Scout would be there.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Like an idiot, when we bought our Toyota Rav4 Prime, I handed my phone to the sales rep so he could "connect me up" while we were test driving. Turns out, he set it up to share everything that was possible to share. It took me a while to figure out how to shut all that off. One concern...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

The Slate Truck almost gets there. Only problem is abysmal towing. https://www.theverge.com/electric-cars/655527/slate-electric-truck-price-paint-radio-bezos https://www.slate.auto/en I considered this option, since I'm not really a fan of all the 10 or 12" screens and automated stuff on...

    Power outlets

The more they can make it operate just like a basic generator output, the better. I don't want to have to have a bi-directional charger in order to make use of this. I'd like to be able to plug it into the generator connection allready wired into my house, and also be able to help out neighbors...

    240V Outlet on Traveller

Exactly how I would like to use it. Just an outlet and a cable I can plug in to my existing manual transfer. That way, I can also use it to help out any neighbor who is wired for a generator, without having to have all that fancy bidirectional charger hardware and installation cost. (Also more...
