  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

The Garage (What did you work on today?)

Great job! I hope they appreciate all your hard work. That sucker has a mirror finish!

    Harvester towing

That interview has probably aged @Jamie@ScoutMotors a few decades. We just have to assume they have heard feedback from everyone and will be trying to maximize its towing and payload ratings.

Scout Traveler and Terra Photo Collections and Wallpapers

I paid quite a bit for a Prinsu rack and it howled like a banshee. Definitely with yall on this one. Really hope they thoroughly test everything on a road trip. Post in thread 'Scout Traveler SUV Green Off-Road Concept'...

Im hoping they test them in the real world at highway speed.

    The Tax Man Cometh?

That is exactly what it means. A new Federal Tax paid on top of your local and state registration taxes. Thankfully this was removed from the BBB’s final bill. But I expect it to come around again.

Im more of a 37" tire guy, are we going to need a lift kit or will these squeeze in?

Sounds pretty awesome to me. A set of highway tires would be nice for trips and day to day activities, and some beefier all terrains for “Overlanding” and adverse weather. I really love the idea of having a set of 33”s for daily driving, and 37”s for adventures and wheeling trips. That’s...

The Garage (What did you work on today?)

Sounds like a pretty big deal to me. It’s often bittersweet. We don’t have a lot of storage space, but I recently hauled a completely disassembled 2001 Suzuki DRZ400E that has been sitting in my garage for the past 6 years to the dump. I just didn’t have the motivation to take it on again, but...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Harassing foreign investors will slow economic growth. “Among those detained at the factory were South Korean employees of LG Energy Solution on business travel. Hyundai Motor said it believed that it didn’t directly employ any of those detained. LG Energy said Friday it was cooperating with...

I think I owe you an apology after misreading this comment. Sorry bro.

I’m sure he’s stuffing his face with Tums somewhere.

Im more of a 37" tire guy, are we going to need a lift kit or will these squeeze in?

Mud is definitely for the birds! My buddy had a hard time with his JKU Rubincon in the mud on one trail in stock form. He just couldn’t get the tires to spin fast enough to clear them. I was able to just bounce off the rev limiter and climb up. That 4:1 ratio is phenomenal on hill climbs but...

I hope you stretched before reaching that hard Bud. You’re the only one saying there isn’t a penalty, because I certainly didn’t. I’m just saying the size of the tires has far less influence over NVH and I cannot figure out why that myth keeps getting regurgitated. Because it’s simply not true.

Im more of a 37" tire guy, are we going to need a lift kit or will these squeeze in?

Rubicons are a little different, especially with the 4:1 low range. If you regear to beyond 4:88s you’ll have a lot of trouble in mud where you need to be able to spin the mud out of the gaps in the tread blocks. Did you tow that 7,000lbs in higher elevation? Are you sure about those mileage...

That’s not really true. But okay dude.

Im more of a 37" tire guy, are we going to need a lift kit or will these squeeze in?

I mentioned efficiency briefly because people that are slapping tires on that weigh about 75lbs a piece are not concerned about efficiency. With ICE vehicles we are talking single digit MPG. I’m sure electric vehicles will be no different. Tire noise has very little to do with their size...

Im more of a 37" tire guy, are we going to need a lift kit or will these squeeze in?

Great points. I’ve spent years of driving of driving with speedometers that read too low and just use Waze to monitor my speeds. If you correct your final drive ratio with numerically higher diff gears you can get pretty close though. 4.88 gears with 37”s is as close as it gets to the factory...

Im more of a 37" tire guy, are we going to need a lift kit or will these squeeze in?

Tires are the largest shock absorber in your suspension system. They absorb most of the impact from bumps and imperfections in the road. The more sidewall you have, the smoother your ride is. You gain an eye watering 2” more in clearance under your axles by going from 33” tires to 37”s...
