  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Rivian R2

https://electrek.co/2024/01/30/first-look-rivian-rivn-r2-ev/ Possible look at the R2 from a Rivian patent file. Since this is expected to launch in 2026 as well, I think it's one to keep an eye on and compare to Scout. Price range (and maybe size) will make it a direct competitor. What do you...

    Is EV demand really tanking?

Lots of headlines saying EV demand has plummeted but here's some data from the S&P Global, who doesn't have a stake in the EV game. This data shows that registration for many non-Tesla EVs are increasing and the stories about EVs "piling up" on dealer lots seem to be mostly a Ford problem. In...

Should Scout adopt the NACS (Tesla) charging system

Ford recently announced that their EVs will start using the Tesla charging system (recently made open and renamed the North American Charging Standard) in 2025. With Ford changing to the Tesla plug, do you think other North American manufacturers should follow suit? I've charged with both NACS...

Is there or should we create a Scout wave?

The motorcycle wave is well known and pretty cool. What do you all think of coming up with a Scout wave that we can give each other when we cross on the road, whether that's an IH Scout to Scout EV or IH to IH or EV to EV? Or is there one and I'm ignorant?

Why do you like to go off-road?

What is it about taking a vehicle down a bumpy dirt road that you love? Why do you want to do it? What keeps you going back? Aside from all this discussion about removable tops, wheels, colors, buttons, and screens, can you distill down to the basics why you love an off-road adventure? I just...

What do you think of the designs from Alpha Motors?

Alpha Motors is definitely going for a classic look—they seem inspired by the '85 Toyota SR5 and the like. What do you all think? Is this the right amount of retro and new? Is this what you're hoping for when you envision the new Scout? I'll definitely keep my eye of them. Curious if they'll...

The problem with false floors in EVs

The Scout SUV might not have a false floor in the back but many EVs currently do. I'd love a way to access gear under the floor without having to unload what's above it. Perhaps the organizer under the false floor can be pulled out as a drawer from the back. It would be a great place to keep a...
