  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Ever tried tow charging?

I pulled the Tesla around for a little bit and it seemed to charge fast in a few miles. It's a good tool to know about for EV owners

    Portable Harvester

Thinking outside the box: Scout could sell a portable generator as an optional addon. - It's a standalone gas-powered generator (~50–65 kW continuous output). - Mount it in the bed of the pure battery-electric Terra using tie-downs or a Scout-designed bracket. - While driving: Connect it to...

Battery only or harvester.. starting to rethink it.

I've switched from a Tesla to a Ford F-150 Lightning. I miss the superior software experience and smoother ride quality of the Tesla, but I really appreciate a few standout features on the Lightning—like its full-size proportions, onboard power outlets, and the ability to illuminate the area...

    Frunk

The frunk could be bigger.. could be wrong but I don't think they're making the most out of the space there. I mean look at this thing.. That's not a small case.

As we get closer to launch. Feature Requests & Real‑World Feedback for Scout

    1. Automatic Perimeter Lighting I didn’t even know this feature existed until I bought the Lightning, but now I can’t live without it. When you walk toward the truck, it senses you and lights up the entire perimeter. It’s incredibly practical — you can see where you’re stepping, avoid rocks or...

    Try before you buy?

Surely Scout doesn’t expect customers to place orders and take delivery without ever having the opportunity to sit in or test-drive the vehicle. Need test drives in major cities.

    Has anyone been inside Terra/Traveler?

I am curious how the interior compares to Lightning? Shoulder/head/leg room etc

    0-60 times with harvester

Hoping Scout can hold 3.5 second 0–60 with the Harvester. Even 3.8 would be nice—extended-range Lightning hits that despite its weight. Id imagine the curb weight will be similar. Might even have a sporty model that does 2s.

    National tour when?

Any plans for Scout to launch a tour soon so folks who haven’t seen the vehicles in person get a chance? We'd love to see you in OKC or Little Rock.

Scout Motors Needs to Rethink “Local” Service. Don't do the Tesla model.

One of the biggest concerns I have with Scout Motors’ current service plan is the definition of “local.” According to their roadmap, they aim to have service centers—called Scout Workshops—within 200 miles of 85% of buyers. On paper, that sounds reasonable. But in practice, it’s a logistical...

From a Tesla and Lightning Owner: Here’s What I Need to See from Scout

I owned a Tesla. I also own a Lightning—and I wanted to offer some feedback. Example: In the past couple of months, I test-drove several other vehicles I would’ve considered—non-EVs. I drove a Chevy Tahoe with the 3.0, a GMC Yukon with the 3.0, the Sierra EV, and the Silverado EV. Chevy’s...
