  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Paddle Shifters For Adjusting Regen

Yes, there a lot of different ways to implement regen, even a lot of ways To implement OPD. The nice thing about paddles is it gives the driver an easy way to choose between several different possibilities without resorting to a menu on the screen somewhere.

    Paddle Shifters For Adjusting Regen

Welcome! What you’re calling “ROAR” is generally referred to as “one pedal driving”, and if you search for that in the forums you’ll find lots of discussion about it. Personally I find the best thing about regen paddles is it gives an easy intuitive way to give drivers a choice. Those who like...

What's it like to take a road trip in a truck like the Terra (F-150 Lightning)?

Some indication of whether you ever have to go out of your way to charge would be interesting. And when camping without available electricity, how much of the battery you use while camping (Electric cooktop? Lights? 85” oled tv? :) )

Top Five Accessories For The New Scout

Maybe id be ok with. It if I tried it, but it reminds me if the volume slider control in the VW ID.4, which apparently didn’t work too well. I’ll trust you on this, though. Now as far as voice control, I can’t help but think of this:

    The Tax Man Cometh?

I just saw a scishow video on the connection between air pollution and Parkinson’s disease. This stuff has real consequences in our lives.

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

From what I gather, 400V architecture means a nominal pack voltage between 250ish to 400ish, while an 800V architecture means >450V (eg 550V for Kia ev9 small battery option). I expect scout will be closer to 800 though. Also note that Tesla chargers don’t do 800V (yet?) so 800V cars typically...

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

A good idea for any car, though I confess I have no idea where our is.

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

Yeah, and they’re kinda obnoxious about it. Their lead designer dude just poo-poos the idea that people don’t like doing everything on a touchscreen. They’re even starting to make the door handles electronic, ie if the system fails there’s no easy way to open the doors. I remember an...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Good video on paraplegic access and other things, including: Ingress/egress Height Hand controls for gas/brake Towing Horses! Fortunately this is a subject I know nothing about, so it was pretty interesting to me.

    Flat Tow?

Some EVs with PM motors also have clutch disconnects (typically for 2WD efficiency, ie for 2 motor setups, when only one motor is needed, disconnect the unused one as it will drag on the system). But I don’t know what tech scout is using.

    Off Road Performance

Welcome! I’m no off road expert, but from everything we’ve seen it sounds like the new scout will be right up your alley. They’ve shown a lot of respect for scout history and culture, and definitely seem to be aiming for that combination of toughness, off-road and work truck capability, with a...

What do you all do? Curious about Scout buyers occupations, or former occupations.

Geez, these jobs make me question my career choices 🙃 This kinda sums things up for me: https://imgs.xkcd.com/comics/computer_problems.png

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I’ve seen similar things (videos, articles, prototypes) over the last few years. Are we sure that’s what “also” is? Seems a bit overhyped if that’s all they’re talking about.
