  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

What my car’s built-in solar panels did for me today

$19 per kWh? That’s crazy! At that price, it seems like it would incentivize folks to run generators on a hot afternoon, which seems like a bad idea.

Let's play " what will my Scout look like pulling my off road trailer "

Now I’m envisioning an after market “Scoot” badge 🙃

    E-brake

Personally I like this. VWs MEB platform is the only one I know that uses drum brakes. And it’s only in the rear, the front brakes still have disks. Seems like a good trade off, when a lot of braking is from regen anyway.

Not to mention violating muscle memory.

    CCS and NACS

Yup, and it was in some ways technically ahead of its time (supported v2x) but was clunky and not too pretty.

    CCS and NACS

It’s not as good as it sounds. They don’t have CCS, they have j1772 which is ac only, and the NACS port only supports DC charging. It’ll probably end up confusing a lot of users, especially if they try to use a Tesla destination charger. NACS is the way to go going forward, and there are...

    CYURE GOES TO NATIONALS!!! Yay!!!

Wait, aren’t scouts supposed to be dirty? 😜

    E-brake

I’m a little unsure what you mean. Surely an ev needs a parking brake just like any other car, and an emergency brake is needed as well, when other things fail. What am I missing?

    Double charge ports

That is an odd choice. I suppose it may be sort of a legacy because the old model had chademo for dc charging so it had to have separate dc and ac charge ports. Seems like a waste though.

    Double charge ports

I’d settle for one, right in the middle, underneath, as long as it’s wireless 😉

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I note that that indicates traveler “offers a rear Mounted spare tire”. I remember some discussion of that being optional, and without the harvester there may be room for an under mounted spare (though maybe only 33). Was that ever confirmed? Or was it just speculation?

winch, stairs/sliders, wheel in the front trunk, mobile sunroof

If we ever meet in person, I’ll be sure to moderate my drinking 😜

    Satellite connectivity

Yea, but I’m hoping to get by without the tire carrier too. I suppose fitting in a compact spot is too much to ask 😋

    Satellite connectivity

While you’re on the subject, does the satellite antenna require the roof rack? I’m tryin to keep it as short as possible, not likely to use the roof rack, but love the geek cred of a satellite antenna.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Interesting, my list is more like Physical key Start button One pedal braking But I’m sure we’ll get along great 😀

    Will Scouts be Plug&Charge Compatible

Plug and charge is not really related to Tesla, you can do plug and charge on any network that supports it, with a vehicle that supports it, eg fords on ea. Even having NACS does not mean anything about Tesla as everyone is moving to that standard. The only thing that requires interaction with...

Yeah, that console is pretty slick. Oh crap, did I just give away my age by saying “slick” instead of “sick”? 😜

Rivian’s R2 will 'underpin' all future Volkswagen EVs, exec says

Speaking from near complete ignorance, I really think they’re just talking about the underlying electrical and computer architecture. Of course they want to emphasize the importance of that, but I don’t think they’re talking about a platform in the way something like MEB or Hyundai’s E-GMP is a...

    3 Zone HVAC?

I love the b-pillar vents idea, but to my recollection the interior pics show rear vents coming from the center console, down fairly low, probably so they’ll work with front bench as well.
