  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Scout Motors Needs to Rethink “Local” Service. Don't do the Tesla model.

This has been discussed & your point regarding the importance of service is valid. But, any new business or venture must start from zero & scale, and Scout Motors isn't automagically going to make a comprehensive service network appear out of thin air overnight to appease all buyers. If Scout...

Scout-specific and general EV thoughts from my weekend with a Hummer, as an ICE enthusiast

Yes, they are easily identified... They are the people in front of you cause traffic jams and beg to be passed.

    E-brake

You won't need that... You will simply type or say "Quick start" or "Emergency" and the appropriate page of the owners manual will magically appear on your big center screen.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Well, like I said, I can see why people want the little flippy doo-dads on their vents to control them, and I think Scout is smart to enable more tactile controls with the nice U/I... I'm just clarifying that ain't nothing "buried" in a Rivian U/I and its pretty frickin easy to move vents around...

From a Tesla and Lightning Owner: Here’s What I Need to See from Scout

Can't say I've ever seen a need for high beams (or my adaptive highs) in a city environment... They typically come in handy in the country though - particularly if you are worried about wildlife on the side of a windy road.

    Girl Scout Cookies

Not sure a new OEM would want to take-up a partisan partnership effort that would result in alienating half of its potential addressable market.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

It's actually not that big of a deal at all - and it was implemented quite well by Rivian. It would seem that the vents are way more adjustable in my R1T than in any other truck I have owned too... This is just another example of something that people that haven't tried it (or love to hate on...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I see an Infinity Qx50 or a nissan Rogue. But, this is a truck forum and not a cross-over SUV forum so I'm guessing there a lots of fans of bubbly crossover SUV's out in the rest of the world (especially in China if they already have 240,000 orders). This is definitely not a boxy truck and real...

Scout Traveler SUV Green Off-Road Concept

in terms of the above, it can sometimes depend on more than just cooling and cells, and as others have pointed out 1 big factor is charger speed. I only bring this up because charger speeds can be de-limited or throttled - sometimes for no good reason. You can arrive at a DCFC that is advertised...

    Camping

Found a pic of my first truck camper (and first truck) at Mt Washington in 1994 or so... Probably the best solo truck camper too. Black Steelies with BFG All-Terrain TA tires and AISIN red manual locking hubs! Got a little frosty overnight before skiing. Looks like Volkl P70 SL's on the roof and...

    Vintage Scout Commercials/Ads

I think I inherited that very sleeping bag, used it in the back of my dad's station wagon to see my first ever movie - JAWS (which seems appropriate given the 50 year anniversary) at a DRIVE-IN Theatre... Took my boys to see it at the Wellfleet Drive-In theatre on Cape Cod back in 2020. Used...

    Solar Panel Roof

Yes, efficiency will continue to improve. Regardless, if you own an EV and you own a house with a roof that is suitable for solar, you can do the math and see a payback for installing solar... And that payback becomes faster with an EV truck that needs charging. This is not assuming a battery...

    Double charge ports

Agreed, not to mention the added expense, which would not be trivial.

    CYURE GOES TO NATIONALS!!! Yay!!!

No doubt, there will def need to be some differences, but I would think that both a dark and light interior (for example) would be available on either. Thought being that you would have good economies of scale buying materials for both trucks, and not exclude a buyer that likes either interior...

    Double charge ports

I would think more of the additional cost for 2 charge ports would come from engineering, re-routing cables, SW engineering to support both charge ports, and double the installation during production on the assembly line. I'm not aware of any major EV that offers two charge ports today?, but...

    CYURE GOES TO NATIONALS!!! Yay!!!

FWIW - I would be surprised if the interior color and patterns were not available as options on both trucks in production, when ordering, and perhaps one more interior... I would think they are using the 2 different pre-production trucks to demonstrate 2 different colorways and patterns, so you...

    Solar Panel Roof

A little 3rd-party "portable solar" might be nice for charging your accessories (and not needing draw power away from your truck battery to maintain SOC), but not so nice for charging a massive truck battery directly. I would reserve that task for an array of panels on the roof of my house...
