  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Scout! Hear me out!

Sometimes it's best to just settle these things all on your own

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

Agreed, I run my truck to the single digits all the time when returning from roadtrips... Helps to know you can plug back in when you get home (or to your destination) of course!

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

MD and DE have plenty of infrastructure. I just charged at the King of Prussia Rivian Charger, have charged at a Chargepoint station not frar from there, have charged at the Christianna Mall at the Rivian RAN chargers and other chargers there, at car dealerships and Tesla locations in DE...

    Learnings from Rivian

As another R1T owner, I feel the same about the Harvester. Once you own an EV truck and you realize the simplicity and low maintenance aspects of the pure BEV, it would be hard to go back. But I would have a hard time going back to a gas lawnmower too. I feel like 350 miles is just the right...

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

I have and EVSE, a NACS adapter and a Tesla Tap mini in the truck. The NACS adapter has been useful this summer, and the Tesla Tap mini comes in handy at hotels or places with Destination Chargers while parked. I would add a USB Drive to capture video. If Scout implements video capture, this is...

Make jack points so obvious that a tire shop newbie cannot get it wrong.

When I brought my truck to my local shop for the first time, I literally printed out pages from my owners manual for them, showed them the jack points, and navigated my infotainment screen to the maintenance screen for tire changing mode. I also gave them my jack pucks. They appreciated it...

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

There is a lot of misinformation on this subject. Hands-Free driving was not developed with a 100% assumption that everyone else on the road is behaving properly. This is not how these systems operate. They are taking in real-time feedback from things like road markings, speed over ground, GPS...

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

Wait. What happened now? Suddenly "the robots are taking over our trucks"? Fear not people, that is not what LII+ is or what Scout has planned!

I'm thinking a driverless WayMo with cutting edge tech would be a huluva lot safer than some of the Uber rides I have had... My Lord!

2022 Mustang Mach-E recently hit 250,000 miles. Zero problems.

Add in OTA's for your battery and BMS (or just for the truck in general, as new features are rolled out) and you have a really amazing EV ownership experience. On the other hand, who has had an OTA to give their combustion engine better performance? I'm not talking about chip tuning.

    Spare tire discussion

Yeah - I actually much prefer the Rivian set-up and having a hidden compartment for a full sized spare. I have yet to need to use it, and my bed is generally free from tons of stuff that would need to be cleared. Its a pretty nice solution, and you can always just throw a spare on a mount in the...

    Spare tire discussion

Many pick-ups mount the spare underneath the rear of the truck (exposed to the road) with a cable release. It's not great if you live in a place like the Northeast with salt and sludge in the winter. Rivian's spare is actually hidden in a compartment underneath the bed of the truck instead. Only...

    Vehicle Visualizer/Configurator Tool

Yes, I can see launching a visualizer closer to production (with implied features), but I was referring to a configurator in my post (specifically)

    Vehicle Visualizer/Configurator Tool

I would actually be shocked if Scout built a configurator that was not based on production specs and packages, but that is just me

    Scout Color Poll #1

I am not a fan of the mix and match Dune interior, or of light interiors in general... I would never get the Ocean Coast interior. In my house, that interior would be trashed in a week for sure.

    Scout Color Poll #1

Yeah, colors are subjective. I tend to like the more muted ones. Dune is their "Magic Mushroom" color. Looks pretty good too,

    Scout Color Poll #1

I can't remember where I read it, but I don't think this was ever actually meant to be a "production white" paint color. I think it was specifically a primer-type paint used in the design only... Could be wrong. But you are right that whatever white is chosen, needs to be more mellow. LOL.

    Scout Color Poll #1

Rivian also introduce another blue recently, which is more of a blue/gray called "storm blue". This would look really good on the Terra.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

New Rivian Quads just launched with NACS ports. The photo above has the same charging configuration I have on my R1T... The little rectangle you can see in your photo flips down to accommodate DCFC Fast Charging, and Rivian supplied owners with a NACS adapter for this configuration also (if at...

    Camper Shell

Damn. Those are pricey and I'm guessing massive range and efficiency killers (other than the wedge types). I considered a GFC for my Rivian, but don't camp frequently enough to really justify it... Maybe in my future retirement! If I were in the market, I would likely go with this hard shell...
