  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

You’re not wrong. However, doing a little interweb searching, the chargers were still not in a great place. We ate lunch at Papa T’s, and on this map it looks like a bit of a walk to lunch while the car is charging. Again, I’m not arguing for or against EV’s for other people. I just need it to...

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

For me the detour on I-15 is an inconvenience because we weren’t headed that way, and it wasn’t a lunch stop. On your search it looks like we could have charged in Dillon. The point I was making for me, is that a vehicle has to meet my lifestyle needs. I’m not changing who I am or how I travel...

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

Over the weekend my wife and I did a roughly 370 mile road trip. We started in Missoula, traveled through Hamilton and onto the Bannack Ghost Town. From there we traveled to Dillon for lunch, and then headed back home to Missoula. I started wondering what this trip would have been like in a full...

Thinking of a looooong road trip as an intro:

The tires on the Scout Demo’s are a 35” BFG KO3. I’m not sure what load rating, but I’d guess D? They should be a great year round tire. I’d guess you’d be close to 40,000 miles on a set of those?

Thinking of a looooong road trip as an intro:

I’ve always felt that anything over 40,000 miles on a set of tires is a bonus. I know my 2004 HD Ram and my 2012 Power Wagon chewed through tires at around 32,000 miles. I replaced the factory tires on my TRX at 36,000 miles (I could have made 40,000 but it was close to winter and the stock set...

    Favorite Trader Joe’s product

One of many reasons my wife is pretty spectacular.

    Favorite Trader Joe’s product

The closest Trader Joe’s for us is 3 hours away. When my wife goes she gets me 10 jars of their green salsa. That usually lasts me a year.

Thinking of a looooong road trip as an intro:

I’m not a lot of help here. I’ve never owned an EV, and if I go forward with my reservation it’s a Harvester.

Thinking of a looooong road trip as an intro:

This is an interesting idea. That said, it’s 2,400 miles from my house to the Scout plant. If I take delivery at the plant, that’s far enough for my introduction.

    Emotional connection without engine sound?

So then only a 9.5 for the score?

How about a cheap version that i can actually take offroad

I’d prefer a fully gas powered Scout as well (and if we’re being picky, I’ll take mine with a 700hp supercharged V8). However, Scout did the smart thing with the Harvester package. I’m kind of excited about having an EV for the daily commute and not having to get gas every two weeks. I’m also...

    Emotional connection without engine sound?

A lot of people would argue that part of the emotional connection with a vehicle is how it sounds. There’s something about the way the rumble of a V8 makes a person feel. I still remember the first time I heard the scream of the Supercharged Hellcat V8. There was just something magical about it...

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

Just another pro for the Harvester. Gas and go, charge when you can.

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

If I’m reading this correctly, that’s damn near three hours of charging time for that trip?

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

You’re probably not wrong. However, the charging infrastructure in Montana has a long ways to go. I’m just not ready yet to give up a gas motor. The Harvester allows for EV daily living, and when a longer road trip comes up, I won’t have range anxiety. Again, this hinges on the Harvester being a...

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

I don’t disagree with the convenience of home charging. I just don’t want to have to worry or plan that much on long road trips. This is where I hope the Harvester package is successful. Let me continue to be a long distance road warrior then I want, and then offer the EV lifestyle when home.

    What did you reserve?

I keep going back and forth between the Traveler and the Terra. I reserved the Traveler with the Harvester package, but the Terra keeps talking to me. I also wonder if one model would be available sooner than the other? I’m not going to reserve both because we’d only buy one, and we can...

    Walkabout Mode (Safety Feature)
