  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I would not worry about this too much. VW mainly uses Torsion (TZ) bits and triple square (XZN) bits. Just about any decent screwdriver bit set will come with TZ bits. The XZN bits are usually used with a socket wrench rather than a bit driver, so are not common in even the larger bit sets. But...

Scout Blanket in the Scout Merchandise Store

Nuts! I just realized I put this post in the General Discussion forum instead of the Suggestion Box forum. Sorry about that.

Scout Blanket in the Scout Merchandise Store

A couple of the vests in the Scout Merchandise site are from Carhartt. Carhartt has a Sherpa-Lined Blanket on their website (Carhartt link). The backpack in the Scout Merchandise site is from The North Face. The North Face also has a nice Blanket (The North Face link).

Scout Blanket in the Scout Merchandise Store

J Alynn suggested a Scout blanket as part of the Scout Community Package, and I think a Scout blanket is a great idea! A blanket was also suggested by nolan in the Scout Supply Merchandise Live thread, but it did not get much traction. I don't want to wait for the vehicle release, I think they...

Scout Community Package, let's make this happen!

I think this suggestion deserves it's own thread.

I hope it is super successful and that other restaurants copy them. While I love that Sheets has partnered with Electrify America and that Walmart will soon have its own chargers, it would be nice to have more options for eating while charging. For those not familiar with Sheetz, that is a gas...

The One-Ton Problem with Scout’s Harvester Range Extender

One minor (totally unnecessary except for my OCD) correction to your plan, Cranky: You can't use the V2L (Vehicle to Load) below 20% state of charge. The Hyundai setup for V2L (see the manual here) explains how to set the minimum battery level for power delivery, and the lowest you can set it to...

    Scout Color Poll #1

I would pick "mythical" just to see the confused look when I fill out my DMV registration and put that as the truck's color!

Expert Car Designer Analysis of Scout Traveler and Terra

The video I posted was from last October (published Oct 31, 2024). I found it when I was looking for something else on YouTube (I guess the suggestion algorithm knows what I like :p) and I did not see a link to it anywhere on the forums. So I thought I would share it here in case anyone else who...

Expert Car Designer Analysis of Scout Traveler and Terra

I just found this video on YouTube where they discuss the Scout Traveler and Terra designs. I thought the folks here would enjoy it.

    Paddle Shifters For Adjusting Regen

There is one extra thing I want to bring up in support of paddles. The paddles in an electric vehicle are set up to control the regen level by default. But, remember, they are really just a couple of easily accessible physical switches. With a "software defined vehicle," their function can be...

    Paddle Shifters For Adjusting Regen

What you are "missing" is that you don't use the paddles that way. With or without paddles, when you are closing on a car in front of you, you lift your foot off of the accelerator and put it on the break. If the regen level isn't strong enough to slow you down enough, you press down on the...

    Terra tailgate questions

One of the things that was mentioned by a Scout rep (I am not sure where) is that the trucks will be "80% user serviceable". So access to the Harvester engine for regular maintenance (without needing a repair shop) would certainly be a consideration. I doubt many of Scout's customers would...

    Terra tailgate questions

I am not sure what you are asking for here. Are you asking for a top view of the Terra so you know where the Harvester engine will be? Or are you asking about something else?

    Tow range

They have not published details about the generator, so there is not enough information available to answer your questions. My best guess is that the Harvester will be a less powerful version of the 2026 RAMcharger. If you want details about how the system will work, I suggest watching one of...

    Solo Scout camping fantasy lineup

If you are interested in induction cooking, have you looked at the stand alone induction cook tops like Nuwave? You can get the Nuwave 10 inch cook top for about $100. It will work at home or while camping (with a power source, of course). I have a 12 inch Nuwave, and I prefer it ove gas...

    Harvester towing

What if you did not have to unhitch to charge? Is that the only reason? Or just one of many? I also have a Harvester reserved for just this reason (needing to unhitch to charge), but Walmart has released info about their plans to add chargers () and this will include chargers that offer pull...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I don't want to see any TV advertising from Scout until they can put firm delivery dates into their commercials. I remember the Ram commercial in the Superbowl. I was excited beforehand because I heard that Ram was finally going to announce their BEV and EREV trucks. Then I saw the commercial...

    Special/First Edition Scouts

Scout has the advantage of learning from other people's mistakes, so hopefully they can avoid the sort of drama Rivian caused. Scout's claim of "retail prices starting under $60,000" actually seems low to me, but they have not said what you do and don't get for $60K. So I will wait and see what...
