  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

CR New Car Brands Reliability / Scout Projected Reliability?

I own a Rivian and I have some insight into this seemingly contradictory report from CR. How can Rivian have both the lowest predicted reliability and the highest owner satisfaction score? Pretty simple actually, they make incredible vehicles. Its a new manufacturer so issues for a new...

The Road to Scout Production - All the latest updates in one place...

Makes sense. I've worked in startups and it is amazing to be at the ground floor of building something new. You get to wear all kinds of hats. The small team builds a tight bond and becomes like family. Every milestone makes you feel like you're on top of the world and every setback hurts...

We need to start a YouTube channel.

i will say this. those who start YT channels and get some minimal level of traction, do get noticed by companies and it seems to come with some fringe and not so fringe benefits. im down if someone wants to take point. 🫡

Leverage Existing VW Group Service Centers at Launch

i hear you. if a 3rd party was entreprenurial enough i could see this happening. on the other hand, not sure Tesla, Rivian, Scout would "trust" 3rd party. guess if they were certified that would make it kosher. wrt VW group, i think Scout would need to plan ahead obviously and collaborate...

Leverage Existing VW Group Service Centers at Launch

We've read that VW dealers are upset that Scout announced its going to set its vehicles direct to consumer. As a consumer, I applaud and hope you'll continue the past to sell direct to consumers. Service for Scout vehicles is another thing. Telsa has historically struggled with service...

What 16 Metro's Will Scout Launch?

Yup, I was thinking the same thing.

What 16 Metro's Will Scout Launch?

Many folks wanted to do that when they purchased their Rivian but it was limited availability. Would be great if Scout opened it to any new owner to do so. We'll have to wait and see.

What 16 Metro's Will Scout Launch?

It was announced during the reveal that Scout will launch in 16 metros. I know all of us across America have put in a deposit for a reservation but depending on where we live, we may or may not be in part of the first batch of deliveries and may have to wait. Similar thing happened with...

    Move Harvester generator to frunk

While having a frunk is nice, I'd easily give up that space if I was able to get 350 miles of battery only range and another 300-350 miles of EREV range. 650-700 miles of range would be insane, shock the industry, and bring in a ton of customers.

    Re-think Headlight Design

yeah, ultimately design is subjective so whatever they go with is going to look great to some, fine to others and awful to the rest.

    Re-think Headlight Design

I don't have Photoshop, so forgive the crudeness of the look, but what do you think about two larger light bars vs the 4 smaller ones? looks cleaner to me

Harvester - Request to allow it to charge battery while parked & a 30-40amp/240v outlet

I live in the PNW and with the recent "bomb cyclone" we have had widespread power outages. Its been almost 3 days without power and we don't have a generator. We've been able to draw power using our Rivian R1T which is great. I did have to go to a DCFC charger to juice up once but otherwise...

Make optional equipment truly optional, and not trim level dependent.

consumer friendly but not ideal for manufacturing and production costs. if they can keep the price of the vehicle down and improve production times by simplifying builds/options then they should. consumers do not need to get everything they want their way.

Entry Model Specs, Premium Model Price?

yeah, thats right wrt Rivian. they set a price point in 2018/2019 and Covid hit and their supply chain went out the door. with that went their costs. they had to jack up the price but customers revolted and they rolled it back for early reservation holders. they sold every vehicle at a loss...

Entry Model Specs, Premium Model Price?

unfortunately, those are not the base models they showed. they recently actually said those are "concept models". which basically means they haven't locked down the trims/specs but those were more "loaded" versions.

    Instrument Cluster

its simple, which some folks will like. i always assumed it was a demo view and likely not set in stone. im sure it will evolve by the time its production ready. itd be cool if they allowed for several options. the one shown would obviously be the retro-throwback and we'd have more modern...
