  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Thinking of a looooong road trip as an intro:

I’m not a lot of help here. I’ve never owned an EV, and if I go forward with my reservation it’s a Harvester.

Thinking of a looooong road trip as an intro:

This is an interesting idea. That said, it’s 2,400 miles from my house to the Scout plant. If I take delivery at the plant, that’s far enough for my introduction.

    Emotional connection without engine sound?

So then only a 9.5 for the score?

How about a cheap version that i can actually take offroad

I’d prefer a fully gas powered Scout as well (and if we’re being picky, I’ll take mine with a 700hp supercharged V8). However, Scout did the smart thing with the Harvester package. I’m kind of excited about having an EV for the daily commute and not having to get gas every two weeks. I’m also...

    Emotional connection without engine sound?

A lot of people would argue that part of the emotional connection with a vehicle is how it sounds. There’s something about the way the rumble of a V8 makes a person feel. I still remember the first time I heard the scream of the Supercharged Hellcat V8. There was just something magical about it...

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

Just another pro for the Harvester. Gas and go, charge when you can.

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

If I’m reading this correctly, that’s damn near three hours of charging time for that trip?

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

You’re probably not wrong. However, the charging infrastructure in Montana has a long ways to go. I’m just not ready yet to give up a gas motor. The Harvester allows for EV daily living, and when a longer road trip comes up, I won’t have range anxiety. Again, this hinges on the Harvester being a...

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

I don’t disagree with the convenience of home charging. I just don’t want to have to worry or plan that much on long road trips. This is where I hope the Harvester package is successful. Let me continue to be a long distance road warrior then I want, and then offer the EV lifestyle when home.

    What did you reserve?

I keep going back and forth between the Traveler and the Terra. I reserved the Traveler with the Harvester package, but the Terra keeps talking to me. I also wonder if one model would be available sooner than the other? I’m not going to reserve both because we’d only buy one, and we can...

    Walkabout Mode (Safety Feature)

This is the same reason I have a Spot on me when I’m in the woods.

    Self-driving integration with Open Pilot.

I’ll meet ya at the bar. First round is on me!

    Wheel Options

I’m good with the 18” setup. I’d prefer that with 35” tires over a 20” rim and 35” tires. The more sidewall the better.

    Self-driving integration with Open Pilot.

After 5 pages all I keep thinking is can I just have regular cruise and adaptive cruise? And maybe all of us go out for a beer? But maybe that’s just me?

Manual Control of 4x4 system instead of silly GOAT like modes

I understand that. In my truck, “Snow Mode” changes throttle response, and alters the traction control (as well as “delivers the right amount of power for optimal launch performance on both snowy and icy conditions” - so that’s cool I guess). My point is, I know how my truck will respond in a...

Manual Control of 4x4 system instead of silly GOAT like modes

I’m all for different modes for folks who want them, but I don’t use them. My first 4x4 was a 88 Ford Bronco, and it was either 2wd, 4wd high, or 4wd low. There was also no ABS or any sort of traction control. It was a fantastic vehicle to learn how to off road in. What I’ve learned is things...

I like the custom seat cover!

    Seats made for americans.

You’re not wrong about comfortable seats. The seats in my current Ram are pretty comfy, but the best seats I had were in my 2020 Ford Raptor. Those things were awesome!
