  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

What do you think of the designs from Alpha Motors?

Agreed. Some of the models have much stronger design than the others.

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

That sounds brilliant. I love this!

    Model Names

Rallye would also be a cool name to use. Perhaps this is an area where Scout Motors can add something original and provide new names to the Scout Legacy. I agree that numbers are boring but lots of companies do it because it makes trademarks easy and cheap. The CEO of Polestar once said naming...

Scout Motors Returns to Baja Peninsula for NORRA Mexican 1000

@Jamie@ScoutMotors do you know if a video team is following the Terra down in Baja? I'd love to see a recap video of the race and get a chance to see how it looks and performs in action.

    Welcome and Introductions!

I'm John and like many here, I'm a lifelong auto enthusiast. My first job was a mechanic at a local shop where I fell in love with the old Scout II sitting on the backlot. My passion for the industry has only grown with the rise of EVs. My career has been in branding, media, and creative...

What do you think of the designs from Alpha Motors?

Alpha Motors is definitely going for a classic look—they seem inspired by the '85 Toyota SR5 and the like. What do you all think? Is this the right amount of retro and new? Is this what you're hoping for when you envision the new Scout? I'll definitely keep my eye of them. Curious if they'll...

Regenerative Braking and Flat towing, "four-down towing" or "dinghy towing."

Yes, to this! I've thought the same thing. If flat-tow charging is made possible then someone towing with an RV could recharge their Scout on the way to the next destination! It's brilliant. It would also be great for recovery purposes. If someone could flat-tow you for a few miles that might...

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

I'd love a sophisticated trip computer that handles range estimates, charging along my route, and battery conditioning to increase charging speed. If this could work alongside the map/routing apps from Apple and Android, that would be a huge plus. They make beautiful, easy to read maps. Stock...

    Internal Storage Solutions

Yes! Give me storage everywhere! In the doors, in the dash, in the console, under the seats. I'll take it all!

The problem with false floors in EVs

The Scout SUV might not have a false floor in the back but many EVs currently do. I'd love a way to access gear under the floor without having to unload what's above it. Perhaps the organizer under the false floor can be pulled out as a drawer from the back. It would be a great place to keep a...

What do you love or hate about other off-road vehicles

I want to see bigger cupholders. We're explorers and workers. Our water bottles are big and sturdy but too many automakers insist on keeping the standard cupholder small. I want all passengers to have an easy, secure place to put their Hydro Flask, Yeti, or Stanley bottle.
  14. JohnBills

So what does everyone think of the first new Scout designs...

Looks like the departure angle on the SUV is going to be fantastic.

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

AC outlets on the interior and exterior of the vehicle. The great advantage of EVs is their ability to power a campsite or worksite. Would love to see easy access to power and perhaps even a 240V outlet like the F-150 Lightning has for job sites.

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

Cup holders that actually fit today's water bottles. I don't know why automakers stubbornly stick with tiny cupholders. If I'm exploring, I'm going to have a large bottle—something from Hydro Flask, Yeti, or Stanley. Too many vehicles can't accommodate these containers, especially for the rear...

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

Physical buttons for primary functions. The reason I went with a GV60 over an Ioniq 5 is because the Genesis had a greater variety of physical buttons. Touch screens have their place and advantages but vehicle operation should be able to happen mostly by feel.
  18. JohnBills

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

800-volt architecture or equivalent tech that allows for fast charging. I went from a Chevrolet Bolt EUV (one of the slowest charging) to a Genesis GV60 (one of the fastest charging) and I cannot stress the difference it makes on a road trip. It feels like a gas stop now! I want a Scout that...

    Learn from the Bronco

Being mindful of the sensors in the bumpers and fenders is a great point. Does the F-150 Lightning have a solution for this for people who attach snowplows or change the front bumper entirely?
