  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

I'm sure it's been brought up, but a discussion in another thread led me to making sure it's posted here. I would love to see Scout push advancements in V2X tech. Yes, I'd love to power my worksite and campsite, but I'd also love to save on my electric bill with vehicle-to-home capabilities. I...

    What If?

V2X tech is the one of the great differentiators from ICE vehicles, I believe. I have a Genesis GV60 and Chevy Bolt EUV. The Bolt sits in the garage 90% of the time and I lament that its 65kWh battery just sits there. I'd love it if it could store power from my solar panels and then power my...

    Welcome and Introductions!

Very cool background in EVs. Excited for your contributions to the forum!

    What If?

If there are multiple cameras then I would love to be able to choose to record when I'm on a trail or taking on a particular obstacle. Then using AI editing, like Adobe and Apple offer, I can select the event I just recorded and it cuts together a brief highlight video from the multiple angles...

    What If?

I've seen articles that suspect Apple will open up its MagSafe standards to other devices. If it gains more universal use I'd love to see MagSafe in vehicles. I'd love to charge my phone but have the magnet to keep it from sliding around. I'm not an engineer and I know magnets aren't cheap but...

    Norra 1000 Congratulations!

These photos are great. So glad Scout sponsored this. I can't wait for the photos of the legacy models next to the new generation. That's just going to look cool. @Chris@ScoutMotors did you get to attend that race at all?

    Welcome and Introductions!

So great to have you here!

How much personalization/modification ability do you want to see in the new Scout?

The choice for no AC in the base Bronco was bonkers. I agree that decision fatigue is problematic and part of Tesla's success is that their options are very limited making the order process incredibly simple. Customizing a Porsche or an Audi would be exciting but when I've tried it online, the...

What do you love or hate about other off-road vehicles

Thanks for this level of response. Very insightful.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I love coming up with code names! Code name ideas for the Scout platform: Scoutboard BOFE (Body-on-Frame Electric) or just BFE (to go with PPE) ELC (Electric Ladder Chassis) or LCE (Ladder Chassis Electric) REL (Rugged Electric Ladder) RPE (Rugged Platform Electric) RFE (Rugged Frame Electric)...

Oh yeah! I remember that. It was kind of like Rivian's gear tunnel but it was lengthwise instead of widthwise. Pretty cool!

    Internal Storage Solutions

I don't think any EV on the market has put the spare in the frunk yet (but I could be wrong). That would be an intriguing location and definitely unique. Might also be easier to access versus under the false floor where all the gear will have to be unloaded to access it.

What do you love or hate about other off-road vehicles

I loved the 4Runner growing up. Felt like the perfect size to me.

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

This idea hit me this morning: with many owners customizing, aftermarket parts are going to make things tough for the range estimator and trip computer. I'm not an engineer, so I don't know how difficult this would be, but if a driver can easily input modifications—such as tire size, wheel size...

What do you think of the designs from Alpha Motors?

They definitely won't gain any range from aerodynamics. That's for sure.

What do you think of the designs from Alpha Motors?

Now I have the Canyonero jingle running through my head! Amazing! I'm a big fan of the Rex but I don't want a two-door SUV.

Love the two door look! How do you imagine frunk access working (assuming there will be a frunk) since this will be a high-clearance vehicle which might make it hard to see and reach inside?

    Model Names

That would be a great name for a commercial van. GM used the Metro name for their Geo badge in the 90s. No idea if they're still hanging on to it.

    Model Names

Taking inspiration from South Carolina is a cool idea. Tired of so many companies bragging that their designs are inspired by California. It’s not the only place in the world!

Me, too. Which Alpha model is your favorite?
