  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Why do you like to go off-road?

I love it! And this part was pure gold!

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I agree this seems a closer competitor to Scout than the R1S. I'm a fan of the design. I wouldn't hate to be seen driving this around. Very interested in specs when they become available (esp. range and fast charging rate). The R2 will also be a significant competitor to watch for—perhaps we'll...

A work of art! You definitely should be proud.

    Auto tailgate option.

Hands-free tailgate operation is nice. I don't love the implementation on my GV60. You stand with the key on you at the rear for three seconds and it'll open the hatch, but there's not a way to close it that I've found. And it's inconsistent on detecting the key so sometimes I stand there with...

Yeah, the move away from CarPlay boggles me. It just comes across as greedy when you take away a feature that customers love.

This is a way cool story. Thanks for sharing. Truly a pioneering project.

    What If?

I've had a similar thought about Rivian's Camp Kitchen (which I think has been canceled now). The spot I grew up camping doesn't have a level road and barely enough room for parking. Then it's about a 50-yard walk to the campsite. If my kitchen is attached to my vehicle I'm going to need a level...

    Realistic range concerns.

I agree. I recently read that 7-Eleven is starting their own charging network. Pay to charge and while you have a break, come in and get some snacks. Seems like a good idea.

This one is beautiful. Nice find!

    Realistic range concerns.

I'll second how great 800-volt architecture is! I went from a Bolt EUV to a Genesis GV60 and the charging stops were 3x faster. Use the restroom and your car is charged! It's amazing.

    EV focused suggestions

I drive the sister to the Ioniq 5, the Genesis GV60, and the charge port door on that swings upward but it's motorized as well. I haven't had to deal with lots of snow and ice yet because I've only had it a few months. But I think these are good insights.

ABRP is the best EV trip planner I've found as well.

That would be cool if the fob had some kind of utility to it, like a multitool that's also a fob. It has the backup key, but could also have a flathead, a Phillips head, maybe a light. I'm not sure the exact tools at the moment, but a multitool fob sounds rad.

I love the off-center logo on the tailgate. What app do you use to make your sketches?

Why do you like to go off-road?

I'll chime in first! The first off-road adventures I remember were the whole family bouncing down the back roads of Big Cottonwood Canyon, Utah in a 1987 Ford LTD station wagon. It was definitely not outfitted for such a place but somehow my dad willed it through ravines and over rocks. I just...

Why do you like to go off-road?

What is it about taking a vehicle down a bumpy dirt road that you love? Why do you want to do it? What keeps you going back? Aside from all this discussion about removable tops, wheels, colors, buttons, and screens, can you distill down to the basics why you love an off-road adventure? I just...

I respect a person who knows what they like.

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

Another thing I'd love to see is plug-and-charge capability. Right now the screens at EA chargers are very inconsistent and the I also get inconsistent performance with the app. If I could just plug in to start charging and make my payment without pushing any buttons, I'd be a happy scout. This...
