  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Rivian R2

https://electrek.co/2024/01/30/first-look-rivian-rivn-r2-ev/ Possible look at the R2 from a Rivian patent file. Since this is expected to launch in 2026 as well, I think it's one to keep an eye on and compare to Scout. Price range (and maybe size) will make it a direct competitor. What do you...

    It's a work of art!

What would Jamie and Chris like to see in a Launch Edition?

I'd be up for some kind of special badging but don't need much more than that. Perhaps a plate inside the door saying it's part of a numbered run (XXX/2000). Other idea is have a decal with Chris and Jamie's faces on the tailgate.

    Is EV demand really tanking?

This is really insightful. Thanks for sharing.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

The ability to for a manufacturer to customize and brand is a welcome surprise. With GM ditching CarPlay, I wonder which decision will win out: CarPlay vs no CarPlay.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Right, usually care companies way "over-trademark" (if that makes sense) in order to protect even the possibility that they'll use it.

    Camping / Overland Ideas

Oh! Haha! That makes a lot more sense. Would it still be useable in the winter?

    Camping / Overland Ideas

I'm liking this idea, but help me picture it better. Would you use it to shower in the parking lot of your CrossFit gym?

    Camping / Overland Ideas

I love the idea of flow-through power at campsites. Brilliant!

Should Scout adopt the NACS (Tesla) charging system

Stoked to hear it! Glad we’ll have access to the largest charging network from the start!

    Camping / Overland Ideas

My GV60 has a "utility mode" for camping and for powering a campsite (or any 120-volt accessories) but I have yet to try it out. It's not a large vehicle so sleeping in it would be cramped. But I do like the idea of a mode that allows for a low draw on the battery pack to power accessories or...

Scout Motors Appoints Chief Technical Officer

That's an impressive background. Software and tech is going to define the next gen of vehicles just as much as the engineering and design. Has there been any word if CARIAD is designing software for Scout or if software is being done in-house?
