  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Plywood

I think that my family members would be more than happy to let me borrow their minivan. The problem is that my closest family member is 900 miles away, which makes those quick trips to lowes take QUITE A BIT longer :/. (I'd love to live closer to my family, they are all awesome, and I love...

Hot take: 18-22" Wheels on Base Model

Correct. The prototypes all have 35's, on 20's. But we do know that 18" will be the smallest possible wheel size. We don't know the 33''s will be on 18's, but it does seem like a decent chance that that will happen.

Exterior lights for camping or off road

I think I suggested this a while back? Either way, upvoting because I think this would be tremendously useful. This is NOT a roof rack lightbar sort of light that we're talking about (or, at least that I think I'm envisioning). Instead, it is light for "around the vehicle" in all directions...

    Automatic Retractable Electric Running Boards

I have nothing against them, but I'd be worried about damaging running boards of any sort, and especially electric ones. If they were somehow dual purpose as rock sliders, or somehow tucked behind some rock sliders, perhaps. Other than the above, the remaining worry is simply about money (I...

    Range and Competitiveness

AFAIK, the PHEV batteries use a much larger buffer, to help offset this (again, smaller net battery size in relation to its gross battery size. But I hear you. From an article just last week. So, to your point, battery degradation is definitely a thing. It does seem to drop "sort of...

    Gas Powered Range Extender

That is the hope, and what many are presuming. In the CES UI demos they showed off setting different target SOC's for the battery (ie, "when does the harvester kick on" settings). And they could drag it from ~10% to 90% in 10% increments. I also swear that there was a mode mentioned there that...

Hot take: 18-22" Wheels on Base Model

I too find it confusing how many EV's shoot themselves in the foot in terms of range, due to crazy large wheels (Silverado EV can be had with 24in wheels). And often, the higher trims of the vehicle will use larger wheels, and at the expense of range (which seems backwards, pay more money, for...

    Range and Competitiveness

This is one of the reasons that I'm curious if the Harvester version will have a larger "buffer" of battery (ie, the useable KWh of battery is relatively smaller than the gross KWh battery size, to account for battery aging), because they know it is more likely to be charged more frequently, and...

    Range and Competitiveness

As an owner of a PHEV, I will argue that the smaller the battery, the more important it is to charge it. Yes, the 13.8KWh battery in my PHEV can be charged overnight with a L1 charger. But being able to charge it completely in 1hr 45min with an L2 charger, means that we can charge it multiple...

    Size comparison

I've had the same wonderment, and I don't believe we've been told that yet. Both have their pros and cons, so I'm curious to see what they come up with.

    DROPDOWN REAR WINDOW

You joke... But it works.. In college I lived in an actual, certifiable dump of a place (It was easily over 100 years old. while my wife and I were living there, we were visited by a man in his 80's on a "family history tour", and he told us the story about how when he was a little kid, they...

    10. Great design ideas that must make production.

Good to know, thanks :). All I knew is that I have heard other people talking about Rivians, talking about it. Then searched/read more about it.

fun features for the younger and digital generation who mught have never met scout of the old days (speaking from such perspective

An idea that might be copied from certain Chinese brands apart from a compass or instead of a compass you can add a 360 camera or a 360 camera inside of the compass I don't know if that could be engineered and add some media platforms like Tiktok Instagram youtube and others so you can post the...

    Gas Powered Range Extender

The BEV version is 350 miles of range, as stated. The Harvester is 150 miles of EV range, and 350 more using the range extender generator.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Clarification needed. Do you mean? A cryptocurrency ABOUT farming? (Hay-Coin), that Scout Motors helps create? OR Farming Bitcoin (or other alt-coins) using your Scouts processing power while you're out hiking/parked somewhere?

I feel like Cub Cadet would have issues with this. https://www.cubcadet.com/en_US/lawn-mowers

    10. Great design ideas that must make production.

This is a great point. I know that the Rivians seem to have a lot of "vampire" energy loss. Reading about it, apparently, it's in the range of ~1-3% per day (which thinking about it, is quite large. With the sizes of their batteries, this means its somewhere in the realm of ~0.9KWh to ~4.2KWh...

    Bench Seat vs Standard

Oh, for sure, I appreciate a console as well. FWIW, didn't they confirm that they would have some sort of fold down console in the bench seat? Not saying it will look like this, but this is what a 2024 Silverado bench seat looks like, with the middle seat folded down into a console. I'd...

    Bench Seat vs Standard

By “regular seat” I assume you mean the front row “captains chairs” and console? Assuming the bench seat has a fold down console that is half decent, I’m 99% sure I’ll be going with the bench seat. The extra seat gives a ton more flexibility, without much downside. My parents have a crew cab...
