  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

How Will Scout Keep Its Momentum Until 2027?

Yeah the event itself was top notch and the Fluffy tie in was good, it was just WAY too early. Joel would be a solid pick. Funny, right age bracket, neutral enough, does do advertisements, still actively doing shows so relevant.

How Will Scout Keep Its Momentum Until 2027?

I think the 2027 or even 2028 GA date is an advantage for a few reasons buys time for PowerCo-QuantumScape deal to bear fruit on solid state batteries buys time for VW-Rivian JV to bear fruit on software stack and zonal architecture buys time to fully develop the pivot to Harvester skip CCS and...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Highway drive mode. The rugged stuff is cool but I want a car that can perform well at speed on the highway.

    Range and Competitiveness

Yeah I added Harvester later but quite honestly I might take it off in 2-3 years time and just do full BEV.

What are you driving until release?

That's essentially what our ID.4 lease is doing, holding us over until 2027 when we make a move into something a bit more permanent.

What are you driving until release?

It's a serious issue. Between the EV tax credit disappearing and EV depreciation in freefall, I would absolutely pass on a purchase right now due to those risks. Thankfully from a Scout perspective we don't have to worry about this for a couple years. Hopefully by then the EV market will have...

What are you driving until release?

Depreciated EVs are such a no brainer right now.....actually that does give me pause....hopefully depreciation levels can get back to normal over the next couple years because I do not want to be on the wrong end of the stick like so many of these early adopters were.

Scout Warns VW Dealers Fighting Direct Sales That It’s Not Playing Around

Bump since Florida dealers now want to join the lawsuit party. I maintain the real winners in this fight will be the lawyers racking up hours working a hopeless cause.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

For sure if they find a better or different way to do EREV then yes patents should be filed, however the discussion seemed to be based around just EREV itself unless I missed something, hence my/others comments.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Your argument is centered around patents which of course are all about those who do it first. I'm no expert on those cars, but if there were patents to be filed for this technology..and that's a big if..they probably have them. Also all of those are EREVS not PHEVs.

Chevy Volt Fisker Karma BMW i3 REX Cadillac ELR are some examples of EREVs that predate Scout Motors

What Was The Biggest Automotive Story Of 2024?

It has to be the rise of the Chinese auto industry. It has taken enthusiasts, politicians, and more importantly the auto industry by storm. Enthusiasts who put aside their boo-China attitude and actually drive/review these cars are shocked at the quality and tech. Politicians scrambled to enact...

This conversation has me wondering how many Harvester reservations will convert to regular BEV when it comes time to actually place orders.

    33 Months of EV driving...

Love this. I set our EV to 75 so it feels like I'm somewhat in the zone however I'm curious if you calculated the benefits of going 73 vs 75?

    33 Months of EV driving...

I've been looking for this kind of information for a long time. I'm not driving 55mph but do need a reasonably fast but still efficient speed. That said how did you get to this conclusion?

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Agreed and we're both wanting the same thing. I would prefer a full size spare above everything else, however I would accept a full height but not full width (what I called a "space saver") as a compromise because sometimes modern packaging doesn't allow the space for a full size spare. I sees...
