  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Glass Break Sensor

Most EV's with autonomy features contain sensors and cameras. If a vehicle is locked and a window is broken, sensors and cameras will be triggered by glass or any movement inside the cabin. Not sure what a glass break sensor is, but doubtful anything like that would be needed, as it would be...

Your state’s 24 hours in a day in the life of a Scout adventure

Yes sir, pulsing green = charging. The light comes on when you open the charge port door, but you can configure that light to also turn off completely when you lock the truck if you want. Also, the light bars (front and rear) do the same thing, but will automatically turn-off once locked. The...

Now that America has become great, where will Scout Motors rank on this chart?

The OP asked "Will it be 100% American made with 100% American parts?" but then posted a chart that shows "where cars sold in America are Made" - the chart has nothing to do with PARTS. The chart also failed to include Rivian (which is 100%) LOL I think Lucid also builds in AZ.

Charge port at front, passenger side

Rivian has Pull-Through RAN charger sites that are thoughtfully laid out and do not block lanes, but TBD if they will be open to Scouts and they are still growing that network.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

This is the procedure for my R1T, but have never had an issue with my 12V battery to date:

Someone call an ambulance. (I just asked Chapt GPT to roast the Scout Traveler)

Ah, I get it now... I think you mean that "if" Scout had posted it, it would have been funny (and then would have been self-deprecating). Sorta like a dad joke. Ha

Someone call an ambulance. (I just asked Chapt GPT to roast the Scout Traveler)

I must be obtuse, I don't get it. You can literally roast anything with ChatGPT, but you are on a Scout site and roasting Scout?

    Walkabout Mode (Safety Feature)

These are the core Garmin features FYI (since I mentioned the InReach): TRACKING AND WEATHER Track your trip, share your location, retrace your steps back to camp, or check the weather ahead. Select inReach® devices can provide all these functions and more1. LOCATION TRACKING You can use the...

    Walkabout Mode (Safety Feature)

Of course, no disagreement there. Just feels like an extreme edge case that would fall far to the bottom of a roadmap for an OEM that is just getting started, but I like your thinking.

Retro trim packages for the new Scouts

Which came first? The red, white and blue K2 Three's, or the red, white and blue Scout? Either way, that was a match made in heaven back then. I would credit the K2 Four and Bode Miller for completely revolutionizing the entire ski industry. Funny story... I was a young ski coach and was at...

    Walkabout Mode (Safety Feature)

Correct, I have not seen any scheduling with Garmin, but you can text and connect to the Garmin app on your phone. My sense is that an automated call based on a timer might generate excessive SOS calls, as people are never on time and might forget to "disable" a notification (even if alerted on...

    Walkabout Mode (Safety Feature)

Technically, it sounds like you are asking Scout to provide satellite connectivity and GPS functionality, akin to a Garmin InReach? But with notifications set on a timer to make the SOS call from the truck (instead of making an InReach call from your person if you get in trouble)? I guess this...

Manual Control of 4x4 system instead of silly GOAT like modes

YES. I think you are agreeing with me. In any proper implementation, you should be able to adjust your settings individually and one at a time... MODES are just a shortcut to a grouping of commonly used settings. Changing settings and using a common MODE are not mutually exclusive. Learning how...

    Self-driving integration with Open Pilot.

Sure, I guess there is a difference in my mind between what you perceive as an OEM "being behind" with tech (as you stated), and what might be considered as "intentional" based on numerous factors. My guess is that Scout is being intentional in their approach to autonomy. I should also clarify...

Scout concepts on Jay Leno’s Garage

Agreed - the concept is not outlandish, but the partnership with Toyota might be. And I think PowerCo is already doing this with QuantumScape (or was planning to). My comment was more about the likely alliances, not the concept of licensing itself

Manual Control of 4x4 system instead of silly GOAT like modes

It's not hard. In many cases, you don't need to do anything other than open the charge port door and plug in. Some experiences require an app and a payment credential to be loaded into the digital wallet in the app. Some experiences might want you to scan a QR code on the charger. they can all...

Scout concepts on Jay Leno’s Garage

I'm not sure why Scout would ever license anything from Toyota - particularly when Scout has the backing of VW, and VW is essentially building batteries through PowerCo. Not to mention Tariffs. Not to mention that Toyota gave up its early lead in Hybrid and electric tech long ago when they caved...

Manual Control of 4x4 system instead of silly GOAT like modes

In "theory" yes, but you would likely need to reach a certain SOC before driving off again (adding time) if you were to draw the battery down to very low SOC (just guessing here b/c we don't know those details yet). But charging is easy - one of the first things I did when I got my truck was...

Manual Control of 4x4 system instead of silly GOAT like modes

I'm guessing that it most Scout modes will be very intuitive and easy to use, but videos are a great idea (and could be played from the infotainment screen / user manual. Sorta like this! https://stories.rivian.com/drive-modes ;)

Manual Control of 4x4 system instead of silly GOAT like modes

Right, but in an EV truck using Snow Mode also is a short-cut to reduced Regen PLUS throttle response, which is important in an EV. It's just a grouping of configurations setting that would be commonly used, based on conditions. So, you could get there with multiple settings changes, or you can...
