  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Thinking of a looooong road trip as an intro:

Personally, I would never run KO3's in winter here, and if your tires are going to wear-out eventually anyway, and you plan to keep the truck and own it (not lease it), I would want to have a dedicated snow to swap in and out. but I also drive in a lot of snow storms when most people don;t want...

In what movie franchise would you like to see the new Scout make an appearance?

I think LR had Bond pretty well locked-up in the UK. Maybe MI in the States

Thinking of a looooong road trip as an intro:

At the end of the day, and if its your first EV, you are probably gunna drive a little more Koo koo than you drove your ice car - especially off the line. The sooner you get over the Koo koo phase, the longer your tires will last. If you live on chunky roads, they might not last long. If you...

Thinking of a looooong road trip as an intro:

Yes, this. When you are road tripping it likely to be a faster trip if you stop to charge within the fastest part of your charging curve, and that usually means stopping between 10-20%SOC and charging to 80% or so, then repeat. We'll also need to see what the actual charging curve for the Scout...

Thinking of a looooong road trip as an intro:

This was also a good effort by Rivian and an interesting off-road / trail-oriented route to cross the country: https://stories.rivian.com/electrifying-americas-back-yard

    Emotional connection without engine sound?

This is not a thing anymore. You don't drive around silently in an EV or HYBRID under 19 MPH. Also, once you hit 20, you have tire and wind noise from the vehicle - more so in a truck...

    Emotional connection without engine sound?

Yes. That could be anyone's father, mother, uncle, aunt, sister, brother, cousin, child. So yes, it does.

    Custom External Sounds

What would be the positive for Scout (as brand & as an OEM re-establishing itself)? Thinking of the brand, marketing consistency, messaging to consumers, and the way other EV's operate, I would be surprised if Scout enabled users to upload their own sounds and then use their Truck as a mechanism...

    Emotional connection without engine sound?

The emotional connection to something so powerful AND so quiet is hard to describe. In reality, there is a subtle noise that can be detected as you power up or down. Instead of it being a staccato of gears clacking and disengaging, and exhaust breathing, it is a more linear, straight-line...

How about a cheap version that i can actually take offroad

There's another important aspect to keep in mind in this discussion, and that is business viability. We have seen the skeletons of those that have tried and failed at this game, but they were not Scout. Rivian has been an exception and really "exceptional" considering their launch occurred when...

    Scout II Restoration update!

You can really see the "allure" of toplessness in that first undressed pic with just the primer on! 🤟

    DELIVERANCE.

    Long Way...

I love the Scout put toggles overhead. That is a great place for them and less cluttered around the infotainment screen and console.

    Long Way...

Love that Scout is taking some of their rocker/toggle switches... I think they used marine rockers on that panel. Love it.

    Long Way...

I love the point that SpaceEVDriver made about these new Scout's launching almost a decade FOLLOWING the filming of the Long Way Up. A decade is a long time since the long way. In the relatively short period of time that I have owned my truck (took delivery in May of '22) that the truck...

    Long Way...

Quick clarification on being "production". These vehicles (while technically given Rivian's first actual VIN numbers) were more like prototypes, and had certain components that were assembled by hand (not by a machine or welded by a robot). The UI was not complete, in fact the entire...

How about a cheap version that i can actually take offroad

Isn't that what these are for anyway? Can Am Maverick side-by-side or similar?

You're on the wrong site, but problem solved, just watch the tarrifs though... Dang - its an EV, so maybe not. LOL

    Glass Break Sensor

Rivian did this with their Gear Guard system.
