  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

What do we think is going to happen on the 24th of October?

The frame is made of steel. :D I like your idea and do think 1st quarter next year, you will all be a bit happier with some new information coming. We are working on a chassis display so we can do some deep dives into the platform. Many technical details come down to final specifications and...

    Vehicle Visualizer/Configurator Tool

Just to clarify, this won't be a full configurator. That won't come out until we announce the first models and trims with pricing (closer to production). We're working on a visualizer you can play with and explore. There could be something a little more fun to go with it... :D

    Vehicle Visualizer/Configurator Tool

I'm hearing it will be 1st quarter 2027 now (closer to January). Needed a little extra time to make it special just for all of you. :D

Scout Concepts in Cambridge, MA, October 16-18, 2026

Eaasy there guy... :P We are kinda at the mercy of the event organizers who are trying to manage crowds, staffing and security for all of this. That said, our vehicles will be outside under a covered booth(s). We have 24-hour security (as do the event organizers), but I think you can casually...

Drivers not happy with their car screens

Our center screen is actually larger than the Rivian R1S screen (15.6 inches). We'll announce final specs as we get closer to production.

Sunshade Slider for the Roof and RGB Lighting

Hi JDGLN, Several things in these hand-built concept vehicles haven't been built into them, mostly to reduce complexity and build cost. The production vehicles will be far more complete and will give you a more accurate idea of all the features. The production vehicles will have a sunshade...

    FB find of the day

Scott has owned that one for several years now. Required some restoration of rusted floorboards. Has a neat history, as it was a work truck at the factory in Fort Wayne.

    Warranty Considerations

I wouldn't use any other manufacturer as a barometer for Scout's ability to back their product. We genuinely operate as our own company. The platform itself is brand new and not based on any existing VW platform.

    Scout's comin' to Cambridge...Wicked pissah!

Just a heads-up that I won't be able to make this event. I'm bummed, but I know you will all have a great time!

Concepts on Display at the Whitewater Center, Charlotte, NC October 10th

Events with just two concept vehicles (with a third recently added) are really difficult to pull off. The concept vehicles are handmade, have special insurance requirements (security and transport), must be transported in climate-controlled trailers ($$$$), have limited mobility off the truck...

    Pets of Scout Motors

Lonny so sorry. Our Wolfhound had a similar issue on one of her hind legs. Went quick. Sadly, these gentle giants don't have the best lifespan.

Northeast Florida could be a pretty interesting real-world test for the Traveler

No, not normally. We have an entire team of people dedicated to testing and validation. They take the vehicles from rugged Alaska to Death Valley to private test facilities with everything from snow, ice, heat, boulders, mud, sand and more. Eventually we will take them to Moab, Rubicon Trail...

    NC Charlotte Harvester event photos

It was more cost effective to the have the outside company that builds concept cars use the same molds for the new one rather than tool up new pieces. The production model will be more practical but look similar. This is the remote for the winch. It is a one-off piece made for the concept vehicle.
