  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

July 2026 Scout Motors Production Center Update

From what I recall, I believe Scout has said they will have 25 service centers in 16 major markets by launch. The last thing they want to do is sell a vehicle to someone who can't get anywhere near a service center. As for what cities those service centers are located, @cyure posted a picture...

Scout Terra, please don't let me down!!!

That would be amazing. I'd love to stay with BEV. That's what I originally reserved until I switched when it became obvious the Harvester was going to be first.

    Loaded Traveler with Harvester?

To @cyure: If I had to guess, I'd guess we could spec (add, remove, replace) things that wouldn't require engineering. I'm thinking tires, wheels, color (inside and out), autonomy (it's software at the end of the day they just toggle on or off), and probably bench v. captain's chairs (they are...

    Loaded Traveler with Harvester?

I agree with this completely. The launch I'm most familiar with is the R2 (probably because it's the most recent). That "launch" edition was basically launch green. You could get the same vehicle with different colors but the green is only available at launch and then it goes away. But the...

    Loaded Traveler with Harvester?

Agree! 100%. I know that Scout says starts under $60K, but I can't see the initial offering being anywhere close to that. I'm sure it will be eventually, but car manufacturers make more money on their higher priced models and out of the gate, start ups need to recapture all the money they...

    Loaded Traveler with Harvester?

I concur with everyone so far. For my build (which is fairly similar to this one, basically almost optioned out) I'm planning for $95K with the hope that it comes in closer to $85K.

Loading Mode (Air Suspension Feature Request)

I'll be interested to see how Scout does this. They've confirmed air suspension and that's what I want for ride quality. I have it in my Rivian and it's great. There's been some comments about it working in the winter, but I live in St. Paul in Minnesota and never had a problem ... yet (knock on...

    HorseC15 Generator

It's my understanding Scout will source the engine from VW and will get it from their facility in Silao, Mexico. My understanding is that it'll be a naturally naturally aspirated four-cylinder gasoline engine. The facility in Silao builds the EA211 and EA288/EA888 engine families. EA288 is a...

    Scout Motors Please Read

To @R1TVT 's point, I've had the same experience with my Rivian. Zero infotainment issues. A couple of frozen screens and the like, but a quick reset (like the three finger salute on your computer) does the trick. I know a lot of people love their Carplay and will be very disappointed without...

    R2 Launch Watch

It comes in really handy for when I'm backing into my garage. It helps me know when to cut the wheel so I don't hit my miter saw station I have to park REALLY close to. But yeah, it's particularly handy so I don't look like a fool parking all crooked in the parking lot. :ROFLMAO:

    R2 Launch Watch

I have a Gen2 Rivian R1T at the present (until I get my Traveler!). To your point about the Gen 1 Scouts getting the updates for the Gen 2 Scouts, that's true assuming Scout follows Rivian's lead. It'll be Gen 3 Scouts where you have to watch out for our Gen 1 Scouts. That's how i's working for...

    Scout Delivery Experience Ideal Guest

If it's in town, one of my best friends. He wants a Scout badly, but refuses to put a deposit down. I know he'd deposit on the spot if he went with me to pick it up and saw it. If it's at the factory, my six year old son. He'd LOVE it and would like the road trip with me. "Dude time" he calls...

How would you build your Scout?

Interior: Brick red/terracotta with a panoramic glass roof. Captains chairs. No bench for me. The bench sounds cool, but I doubt I'd every really use it and I'm concerned about comfort. Exterior: Pacific Mist or army green. Maybe Silo Green is already army green? I just haven't been able to...

New Scout Traveler Concept Added - Mountainside Theme

Does anyone have any idea of whether Scout will have all these colors for us to look at in person (assuming we want to go where they have them) when it comes time to purchase? I LOVE these light-shifting colors like Pacific Mist, Silo Green, and the new Morning Dusk. I will likely get one. But...

New Scout Traveler Concept Added - Mountainside Theme

I like the setup with the 35's and 22's on the Pacific Mist a little better. I love my 22's on my Rivian but give me those of-road 35's on the Pacific Mist! I LOVE the color though. Charcoal Brown? Amazing.

New Scout Traveler Concept Added - Mountainside Theme

I agree. I was really thinking about going without the tire carrier until I saw this and personally feel the tire carrier adds a lot visually (even if it's a pain to swing out of the way before using the rear storage). It's amazing though that Scout can turn the rugged Traveler we've seen into...

    CYURE GOES TO SC!! 8/22/2026

Because of VW's deal with Rivian, Scout's UI/UX is based on Rivian, I believe. Because of that, I think I can tell you what most of the icons mean. Starting from the left, 72 is the temp it's set to and "auto" below it means it's on auto temp (stating the obvious there). The next one that looks...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I'm with @cyure . Everything does look wrong. It's too rounded and has that weird bump-out in the back. At least I hope that's not the production model because that's not what I signed up for.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

This is another excellent point. I think there are so many factors that go into it for BEVs and their range. Weather, wind, and city/highway are big factors that I've seen affect my range. For me, most of my commute is highway, and that really affects my range. My efficiency in the city goes up...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I with you on the stopping every 250-300 miles. In an ICE though, that's maybe a 10 minute stop for me and my family. In my BEV, it's a half hour. Those extra 20 minutes add up when you're stopping two or three times on a road trip. If you have more miles on your battery, you can still stop for...
