  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Scout Concepts in Hudson, New York, July 3, 2026

I'm waiting for a Scout event in the four corner state area (Ut, Co, AZ, or NM). Salt Lake City is pushing a bit for distance from New Mexico. Having something in Las Vegas, NV, or Oklahoma City, OK, is actually closer for me than Salt Lake City. It might have been answered before I joined...

Software Request: Traffic Jam w/ Autosteer - Keep it Smooth

I haven't seen details of the safety suite for the Scout (I haven't looked either). I would be 100% fine if Scout just offered emergency auto braking assist at any mph above +5 mph and adaptive cruise control down to 25 mph you can turn either system on/off. I would still keep my hands on the...

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

I have an hybrid sedan (Acura RLX) and hybrid SUV (Acura MDX) and they don't have an alternator or serpentine belt. I do have a 12v battery for starting the MDX 3.0L or RLX 3.5L engines. The small motor/generator inside the 7DCT, DC inverter, and 1.3 kWh battery pack does all the electrical...

Emission testing and classification of EREV

Just looked it up and NM charges an additional $70 for EVs and PHEVs to make up for lost gasoline tax revenue. No specific language for non-plug in hybrids or EREVs being charged the same fee. The fee will go up to $80 in 2028 and $90 in 2029. I don't "think" I was charged this fee with my...

Emission testing and classification of EREV

I currently have two non plug in hybrids I need to emission test to renew my registration. Got me thinking about the Scout EREV models? What would be its overall classification since the I.C.E. motor/generator doesn't physically move the wheels for motion? We have the option to go 100% EV...

Scout Motors Milestone - First Welded Traveler Body at Production Center

I would fly out to see my Scout Traveler on the production line and have a meet/greet (w/ a southern BBQ) over the weekend. It would be nice to have some demo Terra/Travelers on a off road course, tips/tricks classes, meet other owners, thank the people that make the Scout, and we could drive...

    Scout Traveler: Running Boards

I've used 3M, Suntek Ultra, and XPEL Ultimate Plus with previous vehicles. I also applied Exoshield exterior clear windshield PPF to help with cracks, stars, and road rash chips on the windshield (zero issues with windshield safety tech camera/sensors). I might have to check out Stek PPF and...

Scout Motors Milestone - First Welded Traveler Body at Production Center

I hope that isn't the complete under $60,000 version?

As we get closer to launch. Feature Requests & Real‑World Feedback for Scout

It would be nice if the 2nd row head rest could fold forward 90 degrees to help with rear view mirror or over-the-shoulder quick view. Just a simple push back to lock into place if you have rear seat passengers. Hopefully, all headrest will have some angle adjustability for short/tall drivers...

    Scout Traveler: Running Boards

I would add running boards to my Traveler. I like having them on my current and previous SUVs. They come in handy for my 4'11" wife, accessing the roof cargo box, reducing road muck debris strikes on the sides, and washing/drying the roof area. Looks like the Scout Traveler will have way...

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

My MDX hybrid can drive non-stop from ABQ to Denver (+/-450 miles). I usually make a stop just for a stretch/bathroom/snack/lunch break somewhere along the way. I sometimes stop at Sam's or Costco for a break because gas is cheaper, $1.50 for a snack, and the bathrooms are very clean. I...

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

I just see several Tesla charging up at my usual stretch/snack/bathroom break in Trinidad, Co, on my way to Colo Sprgs or Denver. I imagine the Tesla owner recharged in ABQ? I get in/out and back on the road while the Tesla owners are standing around looking at their vehicles recharging. I...

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

I don't think I would swap to the BEV version? The Scout would be the main travel vehicle for road trips of 2 hours or multi-day +20 hours long. Not ready to give up my gas break with quick bathroom/snack runs inside and back on the road in 5-10 minutes for another 350-450 miles down the road...

Self Healing Systems -> Scout Opportunity

K.I.S.S. system would be my vote for for a vehicle. Too many software driven configuration options that need constant updates is what keeps me busy as an IT Specialist.

    Minimizing complexity

The Traveler EREV will be a replacement for my Acura MDX hybrid. I just need X-country road trip comfort with enough off road capabilities for hiking, eMTB biking, or skiing in the southwest/west. I would pick a lower version without Moab 4X4 capabilities because I haven't needed it with my...

Where would you like to see the Traveler and Terra this year?

A good spot would be the annual Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta (Oct 3rd - 11th, 2026). About 1 million in the Albuquerque area and we usually get +/-850,000 visitors during that event.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

We should have the option with the harvester to go 100% EV with zero engine recharge? Feature might come in handy if the I.C.E. generator does introduce a little noise and vibration when tuning on/off. I can always hear my neighbors I.C.E. cars drive by in the early mornings; but, don't really...

    Colors

Many folks vinyl wrap a vehicle if you want an unique look. You just have to pick a interior color that you like to complement the purple gloss or matte look. I'm planning to do paint protection film (PPF) for the entire painted surface. I've done partial or full PPF on other vehicles and it...

    Reservation order

I hope Scout doesn't "nickel/dime" us on upgrades that can cost $10,000-$25,000 if you check too many boxes OR they put together expensive model trim levels if you want/need certain features. A lot of folks had to pay and extra $7500 for an Advance MDX over the tech model if they wanted 360...

    Reservation order

I'm anticipating the Scout base price will be higher at the time of delivery. I'm hoping the ones that have a reservation will get a "loyalty discount" and "first dibs" once production starts. I'm just torn between purchase or just leasing a 1st model year of an all new vehicle (lease the...
