  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

We would all love more information however given where Scout is in their development cycle, vehicle specifics are likely evolving and are certainly subject to refinement over time. Sharing details prematurely opens a big can of worms, Jamie has said as much. So for now all we can do is...

Scout Traveler and Terra Photo Collections and Wallpapers

Yeah, the brakes will likely limit the size to 18", stopping is important I guess. I still hold out hope for 17s however unlikely.

Can't argue with this combination at all! Wish it were possible for these vehicles. Maybe 17s...

Well said oh voice of reason and I agree. Now if they could just show 33's on 18" wheels so everyone can be happy!

I don't understand the obsession with huge wheels, especially on a rugged SUV. 🤷‍♂️ Give me 18's and some sidewall and I'm a happy camper.

    EREV initial release only?

To say that a G-Wagon has zero capability is simply not true. At least for off-road use. It has triple lockers and is pretty solid for a stock vehicle. I get not wanting to drive one daily but I wouldn't turn one down if given one to drive. Then again my daily is a 2004 Montero...with character.

That was AI's take on pale butter yellow and I asked for the 70's style brown stripe which I think looks great with the color. And yes, that is a slightly modified look at Black Bear pass heading into Ouray. The trail is actually much more rugged than pictured. The AI tamed the source image I...

Here is one of the Traveler relaxing outside of our 120 year old cabin in the mountains. I can't wait for this to be real. Thanks for the fun distraction, Jamie.

I choose to have faith too. I didn't mean to come across so pessimistic. I'm just really excited to drive my own Scout BEV. There is no better brand and no better tech as far as I'm concerned.

Happy birthday! I love your passion for Scout.

To quote THiL08 - "100%". EREVs are new territory. The control software alone could delay production significantly, especially if production batteries are not yet available. I am a little concerned though after listening to Scott's presentation at the UP.summit. BEV was not mentioned once when...

Speculation - will Scout use the new EV battery announced by VW?

Starting a trip with a preconditioned battery is a boon for efficiency, but so is the ability to precondition the battery while enroute to a charging station. A preconditioned battery can save a lot of time when charging, especially in temperature extremes. Preconditioning is built into the...

So something like this? :ROFLMAO: Kidding aside sounds like some great roadtrips you have had and still have to come. Hopefully in a Terra or Traveler!

This is some next level water fording. Overkill for me, I just want to cross a few shallow streams on my way to a trailhead. :) Article: https://www.scmp.com/news/china/science/article/3329278/fast-and-amphibious-china-electric-suv-conquers-yangtze-cutting-edge-tech Video:

Package options - what would you like bundled?

Honest question. Scout Motors is building a factory capable of manufacturing 200,000 vehicles a year. I know some of that capacity may be reserved for other brands but I can't imagine they would architect for 200,000 if they didn't think they could get close. With that in mind, I am unaware of...
