  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

They are a smaller Mirrior and have little adjustment so I can't bend them in enough to see fully lol.

Okay, I need y’all’s opinion. The tripod style mirrors I bought for Goldie aren’t going to work. The alignment just isn’t right, and at this point I’d be putting too much time and effort into fixing a set of cheap mirrors lol. So now I have two options. Option #1: OEM Ford Style I had these on...

Yes it does. It’s very abrasive on paint. The only reason I did it was because the clearcoat was completely gone and the paint was really shot due to all the chemicals by the concrete plant. I would recommend with a nicer paint job a really good wash and then some sweet patina. Don’t go using...

After graffiti is finished, I’m going to install a 3.5–4 inch lift and start going through all the wiring and fixing the lights. I’ll also be using the Hotsy to thoroughly clean the engine bay and installing a cool new headliner. Goldie’s progress will definitely continue!

Before applying the patina sauce, I lightly went over the paint a few times with 0000 steel wool and Dawn dish soap to remove any leftover chemicals, hard water spots. It helped bring out the original paint. So kind of a wet sand lol. 😂

Patina sauce is on! Crazy to see the before and after. She's almost graffiti-ready! All that's left are the mirrors!

The door is not closed. I left it open to take the photo. The door gaps on this Scout aren’t that bad. But I have seen some crazy door gaps on Scouts before. Lol

Who is ready for a ride? 🤙🏻 The front and rear bench seats are in, interior panels are reinstalled, and now the interior is officially complete! Got some more drive time in today and she drives great. Super Stoked! I have linked a video below of me driving it.

Replaced the liftgate struts with hydraulics and would highly recommend it. Also got the paint prepped as best as I could. She may not be the prettiest Scout out there, but she’s definitely gonna be a cool one. Interior goes in tomorrow, then it’s time for some sweet patina sauce. She’s coming...

Not where I am. We hardly get rain (besides this year lol) it’s a really dry climate here in the valley. I’ll throw a cover on during the winter.

I used my grinder with a wire blade to prep the surface. Looking back, there are definitely certain areas I should have gone over more, but hopefully the second coat will hide it. It’s a beater Scout, so I’m not too worried about it. Everyone always tells me prep is everything. POR15 is pretty...

I used POR15. I’ll eventually spray a bed liner, but it probably won’t be for a while, so I did this in the meantime. No sound deadening. I’m not planning on putting in carpet or the vinyl rubber floor. Maybe one day. This is my work Scout lol.
