  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Modular add-ons

You know that you don't need to wait for Scout to offer them if you want Orange braided UCB-C charging cables? https://www.amazon.com/s?k=orange+braided+usb+c+cable

    Please no erev!

Can you provide a reference for this? That sounds more like competative FUD than something that Dodge would say.

    Turning off ALL notification beeps.

While I would like this as well, it is probably illegal to do this. In my car most of the warning signals can be disabled, but not all of them. My guess is that some of the warning sounds are federally mandated - the automakers can't allow you to disable any of the warning signals the government...

    Modular add-ons

This is why I hope they go with individual options rather than the packages. I have a Terra reserved. I want a solid roof but I also want the power rear window, so if the power rear window is tied to an "open air" package that includes the cabana or glass roof, I will not be able to get it. I...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I think any seat would be uncomfortable after 20-hours non-stop. At my age my bladder wouldn't survive. ;)

The Garage (What did you work on today?)

I have a mostly portable power station for exactly this. The Delta Pro 3 is too heavy to call it "easily portable", but it has wheels and a handle to help with mobility. I had to get something the size of the Delta Pro 3 specifically because I needed 240V for my house's well. The 240V output of...

    Warranty Considerations

I think Scout already plans to provide additional warranties: https://support.scoutmotors.com/en/articles/10034772-what-additional-warranties-will-be-included

That's my area! Please bring the Terra to Boston! 🙏

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I think @JBernhardFL is asking for a standard 12V battery in the Scouts so we can replace the 12V battery with a standard automotive battery. For example, my RAV4 hybrid has a non-standard 12V battery (because of the hybrid system), so replacing the 12V requires getting a specific battery size...

Check Engine - Needs to go away

Check Engine lights exist due to government regulations (here is an article if you are curious). All modern vehicles that I am familiar with have extensive on-board diagnostics that can be viewed on the infotainment screen or via a OBD-II reader. I would be very surprised if the Scout Motors...

Scout Traveler and Terra Photo Collections and Wallpapers

Not bad for a fan generated flier. But "Turbo Electric" and putting a flux capacitor logo on the truck says "AI generated" to me.

Time of year for factory pick up.

It will not be the first weekend I have my Terra, but it will be as soon as possible after I pick it up: https://nyoffroaddriving.com/

    She's right you know.

I would pay for the Jetsons scooter sound for any required low speed sound the BEV has to make (vibe be damned! 😁 ). YouTube clip (not perfect, but close enough):

    What’s your purchasing plan?

Normally I would select option 3: "I have a few features that are nonnegotiable, will go as soon as those are available." But, I am buying the BEV Terra for a specific purpose, so I need "as close to my perfect build as possible." I am not in a hurry, so will wait for what I want to be available.

    What’s your purchasing plan?

I assume you mean "if the roof is removable." The roof can come off any vehicle if you hit it hard enough. 😁

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

Others have already answered this for the most part, but there is one aspect I don't think anyone has mentioned. The main situation for the 20% to 80% "rule" is when you are on a road trip and DC fast charging. But that rule is mainly about efficiency. Most vehicles these days have a charging...

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

Now, to answer your first question. An EV is not as efficient in cold weather, that is true. But it isn't as bad as the detractors will claim. One of the issues is that an ICE vehicle will use excess heat from the engine to warm the cabin. An EV doesn't have that "free" heat, so it will have to...
