  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Scout as an EV

This is the point Scout haters never consider. Scouts would have evolved if production never ceased. Jeeps can be bought with 4 doors and a hybrid powertrain. Land Cruisers are hybrid. The G-Wagen is sold in both ICE and EV.

    Analog Scout?

I have a couple of analog suggestions.

    Comparing preorders to Bronco sales

I see a lot of their ads on Instagram and Facebook. The comments are quite entertaining. Apparently, Scouts are "rebadged Rivian's", "pieced from Chinese parts", or are "EV junk". Also, Scout should just "give the people what they want", which apparently is a death trap'with a manual...

Which car companies survive (or, the three elements of quality)

The cheapest Rivian is over $70,000. They are a luxury vehicle maker. A high level of customer service is expected. If they continue to deliver excellent service when the more affordable R2 and R3 come out, that will be impressive.

    Comparing preorders to Bronco sales

40 per hour is the number Scout quotes in their production center updates.

    Optional 2nd Row Captain Chairs

Yes, they are AWD. Sorry, I wasn't paying attention. I'm not sure I would call the Explorer a "true" 4x4 either from the descriptions I've read of it. You are correct--there aren't many true 4x4 options these days.

    SCOUT TRAVELER FAQ

Sounds like 350 is the max range. That would likely be with smaller tires with a less aggressive tread. I don't see why a Cabana roof would make a difference unless you drove with it open all the time. A roof rack would also affect range. So might a external tire carrier, but we won't know until...

    Optional 2nd Row Captain Chairs

2025 Honda Pilot Trailsport has 2nd row captain's. Acura MDX offers them as well.

    SCOUT TRAVELER FAQ

It's probably one of the reasons why they brought back a base model that's $1,600 cheaper than last year.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

There is one car for sale in the United States for $20,000: the Nissan Versa, which is a shitbox. Labor costs are too high in the USA to build an affordable truck.

Miles of Range Added Per Minute?

Scouts will have an 800-volt architecture and charge at up to 350 kilowatts. They should be pretty quick.

    Keep the weight down please

That is the biggest issue with Gigacasting. Unfortunately, It's not going away. Toyota will be adopting it.
  15. C

    Keep the weight down please

Saturns always look goofy because the panel gaps are huge to deal with thermal expansion. Also, I don't think it's more cost effective than steel. Gigacasting seems to be the hot new tech for bodies.

    SAFETY RATING - COLLISSION PHISYCAL

Hopefully the mounting bracket on top of the dash won't interfere.

    Range and Competitiveness

8 year/100k battery is required by the feds. California is 10/150k.

    Audio System Brand Poll 2.0

That kind of set up takes up extra space and makes it harder to achieve a clean look. It also invites theft. I don't think anyone's wishing for the return of detachable faceplates to discourage thieves.

Hot take: 18-22" Wheels on Base Model

The 35" tires shown at CES were on 20" wheels. I don't think they have released the size of the 33's yet.
