Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

    How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy.     No. That step is only useful for stuff at the roof rack or by the cab. And dropping the tailgate is only sometimes useful/helpful.

    It doesn’t take much to build a basic a logic check in that says something like, “if the engine is running, use its waste heat; if it’s not running, use the heat pump; if you need more than the heat pump can generate, then start the engine.”

    IMO, the proper way to cool a mid- or rear-mounted engine is not through airflow directed to the location of the engine. The proper way would be to have a heat pump with an air exchange unit (radiator) at the front of the vehicle as is the norm and run the (insulated) liquid heat transfer lines...

    What's it like to take a road trip in a truck like the Terra (F-150 Lightning)?

    To be clear, there’s nothing wrong with the Silverado as a general truck. It’s just not as comfortable as the Lightning, and isn’t the step up I had hoped it would be. And the annoyances (rear charge port, no Start/Stop button, etc) are enough to make it feel that it wasn’t worth the trade.
