  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Check Engine - Needs to go away

But simply it just means there is an issue. It can mean a lot of things I’ve only had it appear alongside the notification conditions, not met for shift usually a simple power off and back on fixes it.

Planned obsolescence and lasting a lifetime

But looking at it logically raises many questions, when other well-equipped EVs can get better range, and have more "features" for a very similar price, so how much is the "BYO" really saving

    R2 Launch Watch

That’s a great price my tires alone were more than that when one of them finally failed

Planned obsolescence and lasting a lifetime

Needs the Samsung anti reflective screen, it can be nearly impossible to see my backup camera at times in my bolt

Planned obsolescence and lasting a lifetime

Detox makes the screens red and only gives important information, speed and range and such, making it easier on the eyes, the last galaxy watch I had had the same feature turning red at “night” to make it easier to look at the time without blinding light

    Off-topic stuff…

Got some new toys today! Kinda hoping ScoutMotors will partner with a good brand to make some fun RC stuff after they're up and operational

    What’s your purchasing plan?

Personally I’m somewhere between the options I want ASAP but built to my liking. However with being a Terra BEV res holder I know there will be plenty of options available I assume, I just hope that all Reservation holders get access to the same options, without stuff being available first year...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

If we're willing to compare apples to oranges and peaches.. even though GM won't keep making the Bolt, the new one was under $30k and has all the creature comforts of modern vehicles, plus better range than slate has stated

    R2 Launch Watch

If I can find a day a buddy to tag along I want to check out the R2, there’s a lot of open time on the booking list nearby, and honestly I already know I would love the upgrade to it from my bolt, but I don’t have that kind of disposable money and a lease just wouldn’t work for my mileage.

    R2 Launch Watch

While the market can speak for what the majority of people might want scouts goal should and most likely will be to deliver reservations first and if reservation holders are complete with plug-in, hybrids faster than the anticipate they will switch over to working battery electric off the...

What's it like to take a road trip in a truck like the Terra (F-150 Lightning)?

I mean there’s always going to be people on both sides, personally I’m all for no button, most drivers really wouldn’t miss it either, but there’s times and uses for it. That said, a button is fine but shouldn’t be forced if it can ignored, for scout people will be coming from Tesla, Rivian and...

Scout Motors Milestone - First Welded Traveler Body at Production Center

Am I crazy or did the harvester fuel port move to the rear, I’m under the assumption we’re seeeing the rear of the framework as the other side look like a solid “wall”

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

It all depends on the trip; 5-10 minutes on DCFC can be more than enough for an hour plus of driving, but it depends on a bunch of factors like weather, driving behavior, and the overall trip itself. When I had to use DCFC daily back last year while waiting to have our L2 installed, I would be...

    Reservation order

My scout really can’t come soon enough, but BEV Terra is going to a wait.. however that means more time to pay down/off the bolt and build the savings for “the day”
  15. RodorW

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Our Buick had them, the driver side burnt out is just always tinted now

Shopping for a “new” BEV while waiting for the Scout Traveler BEV.

I don’t disagree, I think the lighting looked great it was just an F150 nothing overly futuristic, but I also do like the full light across the front and rear, but GM chose to redesign the Silverado/avalanche into an EV and it still looks better with the fake grill on the WTs but works with...

Shopping for a “new” BEV while waiting for the Scout Traveler BEV.

It’s fair but it’s also purely personal taste, I actually like the look of Rivian (mostly) but 90% of my friends don’t and that’s fine but what makes an EV look? I know the expedition or Santa Fe have cross lighting that at night evokes “EV” is it the lack of grill, that’s just something to...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

By the end of the year I will have driven 25k+ tax deductible miles, I still don’t have an issue paying for what I drive, one month of gas in the ICE is around $600-/+ unfortunately the easiest way I see to make it more fair is requiring an odometer reading at yearly registration but that...
