  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Has anyone mentioned a Truck Camper yet? I for one would like to utilize a slide in truck camper on my Terra. I would like to know if Scout is considering having features to accommodate this when it's plug into the vehicle. Most domestics offer a truck camper special package that includes...

    Driving Distance Poll

In my travels I'm seeing more and more new gas stations/ big truck stations add EV chargers and larger area to sit and eat. There will always be the lowly old gas stations because not much demand or care to upkeep. For Rivian, I wonder if they can afford to have that many Outposts available...

Harvester generator gas and not diesel

I believe that 1.5 years of clean after production is not correct. I read an article from a reputable source showing how many years it takes to become clean for EV. This counts everything to produce from all new raw materials.

Harvester generator gas and not diesel

Hey, it's fun to dream. And while we are on the topic.....for those into camping or overlanding......the best heater is.........wait for it........... A DIESEL HEATER. Sips fuel, easy to fill anywhere and is absolutely on the best options out there. It would be nice to fill my Scout diesel...

    Diesel Range Extender option please.

Maybe so, but Diesels are cool.....

Harvester generator gas and not diesel

I'm not going to lie, I love Diesels. I was just overseas, there were many EV's, gas vehicles, but also many Toyota Hilux and Fortuner Diesels, Isuzu compact truck and SUV diesels, Mitsubishi Panjera Sport Diesels. Even on the small boats. No smoke out the exhaust, smooth, quiet, and people love...

    Suggestion: Autonomous Driving Mode

I believe Merc faced the same problem, and so their level 3 system is only available in California and Nevada so far.

    Suggestion: Autonomous Driving Mode

I agree. I think Volvo is very smart to do it that way.

    Keep it Simple - Please

Unfortunately, those days are behind us. I love simplicity too. But, with all the electronics and necessary and mandated safety equipment, you have so many computers and wiring associated with it, that it will simply never exist again. They can make it appear that way above the surface though...

    Turning Radius

Yes. An excellent turning radius is definitely needed. My Titan steers like the Titanic. It is beyond annoying, and probably the only thing I hate about the truck. Oh, beside the crummy gas mileage LOL.

Traveler Ride Quality and NVH Expectations

Let me say this: My sister owns a 2023 Tesla Model 3 with 12k miles. The ride quality is dismal. The squeaks and rattles are just miserable. I personally find it completely unacceptable. She wants to get rid of it, but she is too underwater to do so. Do not make this mistake and turn out a...

On this day 125 years ago

There are many points you can compare and contrast. The most obvious to me is that comparing a horse to an automobile does seem like something that would draw scrutiny, especially in the era we are talking about. Many of the things we take for granted simply did not exist. In today's world, the...

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

Maybe so. But why would anyone open a hot cup of coffee...no matter how "hot" and place it between your legs? I mean, Darwin has to laughing at this.

User Interface Tesla vs. Scout vs. VW

Touch screens are great for certain things, just not everything.

User Interface Tesla vs. Scout vs. VW

However, what is the point of make it "snappy, quick, and clean" if something simple like opening a glove box has to done through a touch screen. Changing a vent position through a touch screen. Rear seat heater through a touch screen. A simple thing that is overly complicated through something...

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

There is a little more to the story than that. The older lady was in the passenger seat. Since the Ford Probe they were driving did not have cup holders, and the dash is sloped, her grandson pulled into a parking spot after they got their order. She decided to put the cup of hot coffee between...

Road Trip in a VW Buzz: Success or Train Wreck

I read an article earlier this year about fairly late model Lexus models that were having that same problem inoperable hardware due to cellular networks being retired. All that hardware being made useless. I don't know why they did not/ or would not make it upgradable.

Road Trip in a VW Buzz: Success or Train Wreck

That be so, but I'm saying why is it that Tesla outside of NA use CCS?

Road Trip in a VW Buzz: Success or Train Wreck

The really strange thing to me is that only Tesla's made for the U.S. market use NACS.

Road Trip in a VW Buzz: Success or Train Wreck

I think the ID Buzz would have been a perfect candidate for a Range Extender. I'm a little surprised VW didn't offer that as an option.
