  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Tarrifs on Canada. Would you still buy?

I will get you some from Montreal … a good way to test the range as well ? and we may have to heat it up using the cars 110v outlet ?

Tarrifs on Canada. Would you still buy?

If a tarrif is applied on Canadian steel imports and then you expect to sell an American car made with American steel for the same price in Canada? This won't happen because Canada will impose tarrifs on American cars. If this is what people want to not care about Canadian market, that's a...

Tarrifs on Canada. Would you still buy?

EV incentives are going away in a few months here in Canada. Tesla has also raised prices around $4000 - $9000. And even though we go through the cycle of self inflicted pain on US auto industry and then removal of tariffs, I don't see tariffs on/from China going away which will raise production...

Tarrifs on Canada. Would you still buy?

As a general consensus, we do not discuss politics on this forum, but we do discuss policy. And if tarrifs on steel, aluminium and other raw materials continue, Canada will impose reciprocal tarrifs. This might force Scout Motors to pass on the higher cost to Canadian customers and in general...

Scout Motors announces in-vehicle satellite connectivity and highlights Scout Community UX interface at CES 2025

The In-vehicle Satellite Connectivity and the ability to use it as a hotspot is a home run !! Even though Tesla has Starlink but that's sold as a separate product. Marketing Scout vehicles as complete off road companion is a winning strategy! This is going to be great ! Waiting patiently now...

    Canada Reservation Holder’s

Thank you for mentioning luxury tax. I almost forgot about this. For any future readers, if the top variant is marked $ 120K cad, then we will end up paying $ 4K in additional luxury tax So I guess I am getting the base variant then :(

    Reservations from Canada

We are not going to see any federal tax incentive on these vehicles so hopefully some charging credits but it will all depend on the demand. People say 2 years will fly by but I think we will see a lot more range extender options by other manufacturers. Exciting times no matter what.

    Canada Reservation Holder’s

I am mentally prepared for the harvester model being sold for $120k in Canada. I have reserved the traveler. Also since young people can never buy a house in Canada, I will buy this and travel through North America :)

    Battery Life in Winter

Colder batteries do take a little longer to charge but nothing that you will notice. Also, it is recommended that you "precondition your car" before you begin driving the morning. This brings your cabin and battery to desired temperature for a comfortable drive. All this is super easy and just...

    Battery Life in Winter

In real world driving with low temperatures and heating on, range drops to 70%. Sharing experience from a tesla model 3 in Toronto winters.

    Reservations from Canada

The patchy charging network in Canada would make the harvester the preferred choice for Canadians. But we may be looking at a longer waiting period considering the response I see on other reservation threads from our brothers and sisters south of the border. Canadians, which model have you...

Entry Model Specs, Premium Model Price?

This is my primary concern. The entry level might be a stripped down basic version and they price the range extender model close to $100k so as to not cannibalize other VW offerings. They will definitely try to sell up and this might spoil all the excitement. Just a concern though; i will be...
