  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Shopping for a “new” BEV while waiting for the Scout Traveler BEV.

This is actually becoming more common, and a few companies are venturing into a subscription service. Granted most of lower budget cars, but believe it or not Porsche offers one that is actually quite impressive if your pockets are deep enough that is...

Makes sense, but when I need to fumble with the phone or when using the big touch screen I just put on the self drive system, and let the computers do the work lol!

True the Hummer is just ridiculous in pretty much every way but its looks like a beast, is a lot of fun to drive with the tops out, rear window down, and its hilarious how much it squats on acceleration. Other than the fun factor it serves little to no purpose, but boy do you see a lot of them...

Hey I just realized the Hummer EV didn't make the list. I know its huge, but it is surprisingly easy to drive thanks to the rear steer. It has tons of storage, all the physical buttons you need, switches on the side of the driver seat, a key fob, but no car play/android auto. Was it ever a...

Tbh I believe that one of the best use cases for FSD and the Rivian Autonomy platform is to help seniors be able to safely drive for a longer period of time without additional risks.

Gotta say I'm impressed with this write up. With this level of detail you should seriously consider being a car reviewer on YT. Really well done. What I will say though is this is one of the most difficult things for car makers to overcome. As comprehensive as you write up was, being a current...

I have an early R2 reservation but I'm thinking about watching what the market does and potentially flipping it. However, if any of my "friends" want to buy it or spec it for themselves I'd be willing to lessen my commission on it a bit lol!

Cool. Given your long term ownership with Mustang, it will be interesting to hear your review of it. Please do share once you drive it.

Have you driven a Trailseeker yet? It sounds like that could be a very strong contender to meet most of your preferences. I believe the charging was largely improved as well, but I think the UX leaves a bit to be desired.

I know you feel that way, you've made it very clear your preference for buttons lol, but I really do feel that given extended time in a Rivian you would quickly adapt to it. Have you considered getting one on Turo for the weekend or try continuously for a few days? I use to suggest this to...

Rivian does have Audible, Spotify, Apple music, and with Rivian Assistant coming soon, we will HOPEFULLY be able to voice text and have messages read.

The R2 is IMO the clear winner for what you're wanting/needing but even better than that would be to have your cake and eat it too. A used Gen 1 R1S would literally check every box and should you be on your off-road adventures and stumble upon a big surprise on the trail, the R1S could handle...

My wife does the exact same thing! That's how I've known for quite a while that EV adoption is not for her lol! Simple rule my electronics live by. If it ain't red, it ain't dead. 😅

Proof that they are REALLY pushing the sale of the R2 because they know its critical to Rivian's success.

Y'all could release the BEV's, get units on the ground and let us start racking up the mileage. 🤙

Valid for current EV owners, but for new EV adopters who are undoubtedly going to heavily depend on the range readings of the BMS, I think it would be good practice to focus on mileage estimates instead of relying on the gas gauge.

    Lexus RZ chronicals-by my wife

This is what it's all about. At night: In the morning: Tbh I find it much less stressful to look at the mileage remaining than the % because I can judge how much 31 miles is much easier than 11%. I think if early adopters simply begin by practicing the same technique in their ICE vehicles...

Got charge anxiety? 😅 Proof you've fully adopted EV ownership. Now I got to make a quick 14 mile round trip. I know my truck, it'll be fine. I'll charge when I get home.
