  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Well the deer shifted the motor mounts and in the end, the tranny was screwed as well. Insurance stopped work when they were told it was going to exceed $18k. Deer aren't good for vehicle upkeep.

Retired as hell... Though I do consider taking consulting jobs for big bucks now. I can be very choosy.

And the Nissan XTerra will be back in '27, and possibly in an EREV drivetrain . I was really pissed when they discontinued it after I had to scrap my 2012(?) after a large deer encounter. That is very attractive to me, but they have to make it first.

I will only buy an EREV. NM doesn't have the infrastructure for BEV

    What was your first job?

My first job was in the summer of '69 the Oregon State Highway Dept as a "daisy picker", i.e., highway intersection gardener and Trash Stabber. Second job was a super scooper at Baskin Robbins in Pasadena while at PCC. I couldn't stand ice cream after about 6 mos. as it was a company training...

Consumer Freedom and Scout Motors in South Carolina

I just looked at the OTD worksheet 'contract' they sent me. It explicitly stated the "protective coating" and "Theft Protection" were optional and pointed that out. They said, that they were already installed. I refused them and eventually they dropped them and an additional $900 off when I said...

How would you build your Scout?

All my cars are 'Little Guy' in memory of my youngest brother.

Are you OK with Scout vehicles starting under $60K?

I think it likely I'll switch to a Terra Harvester to replace my '02 F-250. It will be interesting to see how much switching will occur as production nears, or even how many decide to get one of each. In any case, it needs to be availible before Ford gets their F-150 EREV in stores

Are you OK with Scout vehicles starting under $60K?

Exactly! I'm not buying one for 'status'. I want utility and range with some comfort and a few bells and whistles that looks nice and modern. Breaching $75k will be a real bummer and likely a deal killer for me. I think car sales will continue to decline at these growing prices and monthly...

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

Snow can definately be an issue if it piles up on the sensors. I think some have been putting heating elments on them to try and shed snow/ice build up

A mere 1600 miles for me to Albuquerque... It would be fun to take delivery with a group and caravan back.

It would be nice if it had a cobb lamp as well for area lighting while camping

The shape/style is nice! But I agree that green is off.

The interior of the upcoming 2026 RAV4 looks like 2021 styling. My current 2023 Kia Sportage PHEV has it beat by miles.
