  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Harvester Capless Fuel Fill Door

Waiting for wireless chargers, there’s so many advantages. Harder to vandalize, no moving parts, no touch, more secure, no strength or dexterity required.

    Key Fob question

Don’t make come up there, (See search bar (TM @J Alynn ) “OldGeeksGuide standard rants”) :p:ROFLMAO:

    Battery used

Part of the problem is that the doubt claims amount to “it’s amazing at everything with no downside”. The first thing they tested is one thing, and it’s in line with a good NMC battery, ie it’s technically near the claims for charging speed, but that alone is nothing special. So some folks...

    Spare Tire, Backpack, or Bald?

Can you provide a link? I’ve been looking for that info to no avail.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

This guy also sums it up similarly: He even offered $5k charity donation if it turns out that the tested cell doesn’t have lithium, as claimed. His evaluation of legit claims went from 1% to 0.1% as a result of the test

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

The irony is, if you’re in a rural area, you’re more likely to be able to charge at home, so you’d never need a fast charger anyway. If you’re not traveling outside the area you’ve circled, charging at home is more than sufficient, and if you do travel outside that area, there’s lots of...

    Spare Tire, Backpack, or Bald?

That’s been the common assumption, but I’ve never seen it actually confirmed by anyone from scout. I asked @Jamie@ScoutMotors a while back but never saw a response.

    Spare Tire, Backpack, or Bald?

So, forgive me for asking, but since the hatch covers the full height of the opening, does the little tailgate serve a purpose?

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

EVs are better suited for that kind of situation than ice vehicles, even at 3 degrees. You don’t use much energy when you’re not moving; no idling engine to feed.

    Ideal Small Sized Vehicle

For my purposes, B, daily driver, BEV. Something like an r2, but with scout design.

    Scout delayed??

Not everyone reads every thread. There’s an increasing amount of traffic, so it’s getting harder to keep up to date, and one doesn’t always think of using the search bar if they’re posting rather than looking for info.

    Future smaller SUV

Very much on the same page. The last two cars I got rid of were 14 and 18 years old, both bought new. The traveler is beautiful, but too big for my needs. Parking and fitting in the garage would be a daily hassle. But otherwise, scout philosophy and design is exactly what I’m looking for.

    Onboard air compressor

So what I’m hearing is smaller tires are better for off roading 🙃
