  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Bluey The 1979 Scout II

How true this is! I've had this Scout since it was new in October 79, single owner. It's a long story that I'll have to share in the Registry sometime. I couldn't replace it with another, even if it was more cost effective to go that route. There' s just too many memories. It's only been out of...

    Bluey The 1979 Scout II

Bluey is awesome. I've been trying to decide what to do with my 79. I did a refurb on it in 1984 and painted it. I would really love to send it to Riptide.

"capable of towing" for me is local, short distances. I do intend to use my Scout as a utility vehicle but it has to look good while working hard. My outdoor adventures are primarily day hikes, not camping.

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

$80k...I guess that is assuming a certain trim level or options? I don't even see what there is to compare since the first new Scout hasn't been produced and so many unknowns. When we have solid facts that's when I'll be interested in comparing.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

A lot of the above could be solved by programmable buttons in reach of the passenger. I am just not sure why the passenger needs control as all older models whether manual lever or electronically controlled were controlled by the driver but maybe I am missing something.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I should rephrase. By "make sense", I meant that it may match the location of the concepts. I understand what you mean by a convoluted filler neck and that wouldn't make sense. I didn't specifically ask about the fuel filler door since I wasn't planning on buying the harvester. Maybe ask someone...

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

I have sworn by Honda and Toyota brands and owned them for years. I also observed Kia and Hyundai over the years thinking I would never own one. However, while Honda and Toyota are still good vehicles, they just haven"t improved at the rate Kia and Hyundai have. Not to get into the details but...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Yep. I specifically asked at the Blythewood event if the charge port position was staying as shown on the concepts and I was told "Yes". So it would make sense that the Harvester gas door also stays.

Actual delay official and order of deliveries confirmed?

Based on two of this forum's polls (Poll- What have you Reserved... and What age group are you?), the majority reservations are Traveler - Harvester and so I'm guessing you're in the 40-50 year old range which makes up huge portion of the age group poll. So here I am in the minority of both of...

Actual delay official and order of deliveries confirmed?

Well I probably had my first Scout before you were born so I'll just reminisce while I wait with "faith and patience". ;)

Comment by 'bwdavis7' in item 'Okie Scout'

Ah ha...2 gas caps! My dads Scout 800 had 2 tanks and I vividly remember him swapping the valve in the floor as the engine sputtered then picked right back up. I haven't seen an 80 nor an 800 in the wild in a long time.

Actual delay official and order of deliveries confirmed?

Scoutmotors: "We intend to start producing our EREV first to match demand." OK you goobers out there with EREV reservations, if you aren't traveling over 300 miles daily or towing junk, you need to change your reservations to BEV! What is the matter with you? And on top of it all, do you really...

    Lexus RZ chronicals-by my wife

Congrats on the new Lexus RZ! I have had my Ioniq 5 for 2 months now and find that posts like this one are very helpful to those of us new to the EV family. Had it not been for this forum, I would not have even considered purchasing a BEV. I actually jumped from 25 year old ICE technology to...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I totally agree with you both. I watched the legislative hearing last year and it was obvious that those knuckle heads had already made up their minds to support the lobbyist$ and not the SC consumers. What I can't figure out is which candidates for governor support DTC. Not that it matters...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Here's a good summary of the history and status of the DTC sales in South Carolina and mention of Scout Motors. It's also an interesting read for consumers in other states battling the same issues. It's unfortunate that the average consumer is unaware that these franchise laws are firmly seated...

    Welcome and Introductions!

Not exactly the same state as the plant but close enough that we will claim you! ;) Headquarters in Charlotte, NC ... Plant in Blythewood, SC but you're in the Carolinas so that counts. I hate that you didn't join the forum a couple of weeks ago. You just missed 3 showing opportunities in and...

Scout Concepts are coming home April 18-20, 2026

I really wanted to fly my drone over, but didn't want to fall into Scout jail. I took a screen clip from the Training Center \ Production Center Youtube that I posted the link in another thread. Maybe I'll just get a warning for stealing that.
