  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    20-24 mpg

Any chance you've also been saying "more than 350 miles" of total range for the BEV? 😂

    Scout Mountain

I tend to believe you when you say things, but the wording on the email says optional as well. Are you saying they mean select-able? "Surrounding Scout Mountain is a planned 4,800 feet of purpose-built off-road terrain. Rock crawling. Fording. Obstacles. We’re building the kind of trail that...

    R2 Launch Watch

That is more in line with what I'd expect. If I'm paying $5k to upgrade, I want the original set to sell on my own 😂

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

Just a thought, but battery life and tech changes may actually make the Harvester unnecessary. Let's say you buy the EREV now and need to replace the battery pack in 15 years. The batteries available may have a long enough range that you no longer need the engine that's in the vehicle. Or, what...

    Reservation order

I'm a January 2025 reservation and am honestly just hoping that it's sometime in 2028. I'm not that optimistic though.

    Minimizing complexity

Luxury probably isn't the right word, but it's close based on the price point. They can market it as utilitarian and off road capable all they want, but I will expect the Scout to hold up to other vehicles that start in the same range. The Grand Cherokee is a pretty nice vehicle that is lightly...

Shopping for a “new” BEV while waiting for the Scout Traveler BEV.

Congrats! Honestly didn't see that one coming considering how you've always talked so positively about the Ford.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

The current generation of the Wrangler has the back up camera mounted on the spare tire. I'll be curious how Scout does it since the tire carrier is advertised as optional.

    20-24 mpg

The thread OP is stating the battery would go to 0% and then the engine would kick on. I was stating that's not how it's designed to work on a long trip. As @cyure posted above, Scout has said that there will be different settings. One would have to select battery only in order to end up in a...

    20-24 mpg

My assumption is that 24 MPG is the 350 extra miles (500-150) divided by 15 gallons of gas (speculated gas tank size).

    20-24 mpg

That isn't how the system is being described. The only reason a person would drive 150 miles on 100% battery just to drive further on gas with a dead battery would be because of a personal decision to override the system logic. If a person has a 400 mile trip planned, the EREV will want to use...

    Torn

Thank you for this. You never cease to amaze me with the time you put in to your posts. That's really similar to what I had planned out in my head. The spot I usually camp/wheel is near Arrington, VA. I plugged it in to ABRP and it's in the middle of a hole when it comes to chargers. Other spots...

Given your experience with EVs, I'm curious about the towing. With your lightning, what would you expect the timing to look like to tow a Wrangler on trailer (6000 pounds) a total of 250 miles? Nearest charger to the end point (campsite with no power) is 30 miles away.

April 2026 Scout Production Center Update

It's amazing how far out we were when I saw it on the horizon and said, "oh there's Scout" 😂

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

This. Each version of the Wrangler used to be distinctly different. Now they release a "special edition" every other month that is nothing more than paint and a different color cloth insert on the seat. I just don't understand how they continue to sell as well as they do.

    What buyer type are you

I voted for the 2 that represent me the most and apparently I'm in the minority since both now have 2 votes total. Though I think the demographics on the site in 2023 were probably more long term Scout enthusiasts vs people who have come here because of design and capabilities. Using me as an...

New Traveler Color Concept - Satin White Traveler

As always, thanks for replying directly Jamie. I figured it was real since it's being shown in that color.
