  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Please don't put the Harvester engine behind/below the rear axle

I think part of the issue here is that we've already discussed the location of the Harvester engine and generator, and it is locked in. The platform was designed from the start to support a rugged off-road vehicle. That means turning radius and articulation in the front that can support large...

Scout Traveler and Terra Photo Collections and Wallpapers

Happy Friday! We are coming off of several events in Arizona and Seattle where we displayed the concept vehicles and had great turnouts. I met a lot of reservation holders and community members and always love putting faces with names. Here are a few photos from the events:

    Scout Gift "Unboxed"

Posters went out to anyone who added their address to their reservation back last fall. It was intended to go out around the holidays last year but we ran into shipping issues. There have been a few people here and there that either had the wrong address or didn't receive a poster. Since...

Will the Scout EREV be obsolete by the time it gets here in 2027/28?

Let's play nice... :D That video makes a number of assumptions that I won't go into here. We have a lot of seasoned engineers at Scout, and as part of the broader VW Group, we have substantial resources, including further engineering and battery technology. AI can't tell you what is coming and...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

From the first day, we've pursued additional investors. Scott was just reiterating what we've been doing for a while.

Scout Concepts in Seattle, Washington, May 9, 2026

I think the spare tire discussion has to wait on the final specs and given models and trims. There are so many variables in tire and wheel sizes, Harvester, no Harvester, and on and on. We don't want to give any information that is incorrect or subject to change. Similarly, when we bring staff...

Normally you would receive a confirmation, but maybe the system isn't behaving correctly. I'd also double check your spam folder as well.

5klbs towing cap with gas range extender?

It is the overall thermal management, battery energy density, etc., etc. Let's see where things land in the end.

5klbs towing cap with gas range extender?

I’m not sure why you took my comment personally, that wasn’t my intent, and I apologize. You compared the Scout with a targeted tow rating of 10,000 lbs. to a different product with 14,000 lbs. tow rating. If you tow long distances and need 14,000 lbs of tow rating then a different vehicle may...

Actual delay official and order of deliveries confirmed?

For the assembly line to function properly, the entire factory and supply chain need to be in place. We will dive deeper into this with future videos.

5klbs towing cap with gas range extender?

If you need the towing capacity at that level, then that may be the better choice. Or, really, you should consider a medium- or heavy-duty truck. Let's also see where the Terra comes in when the dust settles.

Please don't put the Harvester engine behind/below the rear axle

Remember, the battery pack weighs more than the engine and generator. Since the Harvester has a smaller battery pack than the full BEV model, we move it forward to redistribute the weight. Lots of speculation out there.

    AI In Scouts 2027

Nothing to report on our end. Obviously if it is a federal requirement, we will have to comply. Let's see how this all shakes out first.

Actual delay official and order of deliveries confirmed?

We will be building preproduction (and production) vehicles that will be touring and also available to look at our retail locations. So you should be able to see one before you have to make that decision.
