  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Terra Cabana Top

Would be curious to hear what others think of owning the "Jeep version" of a cabana top in colder climates. I would have to think that your cab would also require more energy to heat in the winter with this? I just don't see something like that lasting very long (given my environment and use...

    Terra Cabana Top

I'm not complaining - but I enjoy this much more while parked. Driving? Not as much, or maybe I just take it for granted looking straight ahead at the road. This is obviously a nice benefit for backseat drivers!

    Terra Cabana Top

Its not that its too far back, its just that you don't look up while you drive! I mean, its nice to have some light and sunshine over top but it wouldn't kill me not to have a pano glass roof if I am being honest.

    Terra Cabana Top

I'm a Terra BEV reservation holder. I would go glass or solid. I have a full glass pano roof on my R1T. Nice for the passengers in the back, but does little for me in the drivers seat. It does heat up the truck nicely this time of year!

    Terra Cabana Top

Yes, I have my truck garaged, but I'm considering when I am out doing "truck stuff" in the mountains, or on a road trip north in the winter that concerns me. I have had plenty of situations where my truck is exposed to high winda, blizzard conditions, freezing rain, etc. when out in the wild...

    Scout Color Poll #1

Yes. Brown was fired by tan. :poop: The decline started in 1977 with the release of a brown AMC Pacer and culminated with the debut of a brown AMC Eagle around 1984. Historians credit these 2 vehicles with a simultaneous, immediate & catastrophic drop in demand for brown. Alas, a rebirth...

    Off-topic stuff…

Looks like an HD pick-up with an armor shell that has integrated NHTSA lighting - those are some beef towing mirrors...

    Terra Cabana Top

Not to be a Debbie Downer here, but I wonder if a cabana could be a hard top - I think that is the only way it would work here in the Northeast (and other places where we get Ice and Snow in Winter IMHO). Almost like the Rivian roll-away / powered tonneau but on the roof. Otherwise, my fear is...

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

This. In a modern EV with newer battery tech, better BMS / better thermal regulation, faster DCFC's + 800V architecture, you could be charged and back on the road in 20 mins no problem. But in reality, you would likely just charge for cheaper than anything you put into an ICE vehicle, at...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Good news reminder.... With Scout, we have the JV with Rivian. Can't think of a better domestic tech partner to get this flywheel spinning. Hopefully the partnership pays dividends for BOTH Scout & Rivian, and we can keep innovating & competing domestically. Even if the US fails to reward its...

Maybe a lil Scout in the rounded nose? Those look like suicide doors, so you would need to open the front to release the back (no handle). The steering wheel is awful and the headrests just float in mid-air. And if you thought Teslas were bad with all touch screen, this thing takes the...

Negative! 100%. So the real answer is probably a little of both..

    Lexus RZ chronicals-by my wife

Whats going on here? Is that a "car"? 😁 JK - Congrats and hope she likes it... You can get all of your EV Torque angst out on this thang when she's not looking. Then you can ease yourself right into your new Scout and not feel the need to LAUNCH YOURSELF from every stop light.

Maybe the miniature spare tire hanging off the back? This one gets another big "thank you, but no thank you" from me... Still have not seen anything that comes close to touching Scout or Rivian, and its a PHEV apparently too.

Music to my ears, Jamie! Love it... Everyone wins.

    The Start/Stop Button

My take away (from all of these threads on START BUTTON) is that there are a lot of misconceptions about why a START Button is needed (or not needed) in a modern EV with a great UI and configurations, and that people can be very reluctant to change or try new things. This is expected. Many...

    The Start/Stop Button

Agreed - that was not "normal" experience in Normal... That employee should be fired - that sounds like a poor experience for sure, not to their standard.

    The Start/Stop Button

Yes, and with no button, and provided you have made a handshake with the truck either with proximity or any kind of "unlock event", that person can simply DRIVE without any extra step. And there is no interaction with a touch screen. This came up in an earlier thread. No START means faster get...
