  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Harvester Towing

Grok? Powerboost? What is happening! My lord. The Harvester is NOT sending ANY power directly to the drivetrain - it goes to the battery.

Help me decide BEV or EREV

They will do that, but they need to get through initial production and their first tranche of deliveries. There is likely limited urgency around test drives at this stage based on fulfilling converted reservations to orders and making deliveries, but Rivian is doing a ton of R1 test drives (and...

Please explain. You are worrying about a "different drive train"?

Shopping for a “new” BEV while waiting for the Scout Traveler BEV.

The Hummer is also ridiculously inefficient, in fact it is the least efficient EV truck on the market: Energy Usage: The Hummer EV uses approximately 63-72 kWh to travel 100 miles. Massive Battery: To achieve a roughly 300-mile range, it requires 217.7 kWh battery pack. Poor Aerodynamics: A...

    Generator + Solar integration

You are trolling. Look at your posts. Consider why you are here spreading FUD & misinformation when scout has not even published a single efficiency spec OR EPA rating. Once they do, there will be plenty of reliable articles written by trusted sources (like Edmunds). Your motivation is clear here.

That's like writing an article about filling a 1 gallon jerry jug faster than a 2 gallon jerry jug from the same nozzle.

    Generator + Solar integration

Well, trolling people with YouToober influencer videos with ulterior motives & hidden agendas is hardly "real world stuff". And, we already went over all of this a month ago. My lord: https://community.scoutmotors.com/threads/higher-range.2774/page-5#posts

    Generator + Solar integration

Of course. You could embed pixies and fairy dust into the paint too. You can do whatever technology allows for. But, at what cost? And at what VALUE to the Scout and at what value to the consumer? The complexity involved in developing, maintaining and servicing all of the additional components...

Please don't put the Harvester engine behind/below the rear axle

This may be true for you, but not for others - that is a broad stroke. I use my Frunk all the time. I reserve space for groceries in it, have my foul weather gear / rubber boots in it, carry my adapters and EVSE in it, have a sleeping bag in it, as well as some spare clothing, leather gloves...

    Generator + Solar integration

Please re-read my post. 4.4 mi is an average. That means you can add more than 4 miles of range and less than 4 miles range / per day given an 800 Watt array. Don't get me wrong, I love the idea and it will eventually become less expensive to implement and maintain. I would love a modular...

    Generator + Solar integration

Please help me understand this use case. How are are you envisioning driving long distances (and not dipping into range), while only adding 4.4 miles of range from solar on average? You absolutely can driving long distances (as long as you want) but it would take weeks or months to accomplish...

    Generator + Solar integration

Errrrr, believe what you want, but let's get real. The gains are actually much smaller, such that the cost equation makes very little sense for an OEM, not to mention the additional parts, service, maintenance and complexity. There are also a number of reasons why Elon's exuberant marketing of...

5klbs towing cap with gas range extender?

Far too many people try to stretch the limits of their trucks with towing - either meeting or exceeding load and tongue-weight. Its not only bad for the vehicle but the safety issues with towing I see are off the charts. EV trucks are amazing tow vehicles (range impacts aside). But if someone is...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

My guess would be programmable use of button press on steering wheel, or AUX switch.

    AI In Scouts 2027

Nice FUD. Those "insurance features" are opt-in features that require an owner's consent, should data be obtained through telematics. No insurance company is randomly raising drivers rates or lowering their safe driving score b/c of hard braking/ acceleration events WITHOUT SOMEONE OPTING...

Maybe I am being too harsh with my Volvo example. Volvo SW is actually the worst though. And a dealer tried to charge us something like $600 bucks for a SW update that did nothing just so they could try to repair a wiring issue and get the rear lift gate on an XC90 repaired with new stanchions...

Many of us are here b/c we think Scout has a chance to break that mold and deliver a much more value-oriented & bomb-proof vehicle, with longevity built-in as a feature - particularly if it is easier for owners to take care of their trucks AND they can get great service and support. This is part...
