  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    A Gift From Scout Motors

I just got mine today as well. Been very busy with work so looking forward to giving it a read over as a little bedtime reading this evening.

    Schnauzers of Scout Motors

We did one of those tests on our old dog Pippa. We knew the mom was a Westie and assumed the other half was Mini Schnauzer based on looks but also thought it could have been Cairn Terrier, so we did a DNA test just out of curiosity and it came back 50% Westie 50% Mini Schnauzer. Even though...

What If the Harvester Shed 1,000 lbs and Got Better? The Case for LTO + EA211-ERV

Being realistic, the other issue is this replacing the current Harvester design. Even if it would be better (I haven't read enough into it), they're not realistically going to redesign the Harvester concept at this point in the development cycle or introduce another battery/hybrid type to go...

    R2 Launch Watch

Agreed, although I do like that there is under a $10k price difference between the Standard and the Performance. Hopefully Scout will have a similar differential so the top trim isn't $30-40k above the base trim. Looking at the R2, I'd be going with the Premium trim if I were to order one.

    Charging while driving…Wild, irresponsible speculation...

We do that too, the manual in our Kia Telluride also specifically says to use top tier gas. Fortunately we have a couple of stations close by that are.

    Key Fob question

I like a backup, that being said in 65,000 miles and over 3 years in my Tesla I've never had to use it but it's nice to have just in case something happens. I hope Scout have a similar card type access so it can just fit in my wallet like a credit card (or let you pick either card or key). I...

    Higher Range

Shows the price of the battery, looking at their website now, LT Standard Range (283 miles) is showing at $63,495, LT Extended Range is at $71,695 (410 miles) LT max range is at $91,795 (478 miles).

    Key Fob question

I'd be surprised if the Harvester even needs one since it would be activated automatically based on whatever setting is chosen (and possibly an option to start it in the app as well). I'm sure if you were out camping and wanted to keep the battery at say 80% as long as possible that would just...

    Key Fob question

But at the same time if you have an EV with no start/stop button and an EV with a start/stop button it's also going to get frustrating, especially when there's no engine noise or anything to remind you it's still running, or forgetting to start the one with the button every time you get in and...

    Off-topic stuff…

It's around $3.99 where I am, we managed to fill up our Kia Telluride when it was $3.36 which was still pretty high at the time. Thankfully we can mostly use my Tesla for shopping/commuting so we can make each tank of gas last a long time so it thankfully has less impact for us.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

That would be really nice, is it possible to just have one built in though that would accommodate all the different passes across the country though? I wish we could just have one national standard that works on all toll roads.

    Higher Range

The problem is they have to follow the EPA cycle so range will always be misleading against that. The cycle they do in Europe is different and that tends to give even bigger ranges. On Tesla's website, the range for the Model 3 AWD Premium is 346 miles EPA. If you go on the UK site it's 410...

    Higher Range

I'm thinking (for the Terra since that's what I'm going for) it'll be around 2.0 mi/kWh which is why I'm hoping for a 150 kWh battery to get a real world 300 miles.

    Higher Range

I'm good with real world 300 miles with mostly highway driving (around town should be higher). I just think they will need 150 kWh usable battery to be able to get there. I haven't checked recently but I thought it said around 120 or 130 kWh size for the 350 range which I'm a little skeptical on.

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

That alone is enough for me to keep with BEV, not even counting the extra maintenance on the Harvester. I'm probably going to be doing 20k miles a year when I get mine so that will add up to some decent cost savings.

    R2 Launch Watch

See I'm the opposite, from my first car in 2005 until I bought my first EV in 2022, I had 13 cars in 17 years, and since 2022 I haven't changed since the EV keeps getting software updates and still feels like I'm getting new things. I am getting itchy feet though, but I'm trying to hold out...

    R2 Launch Watch

I like the R2 overall, the only things that are an issue for me is the 400v charging, it just seems a little slow compared to other competitors these days. The other thing for me, is I would probably look at the Premium trim if I were to ever consider getting one, and the paint options just seem...

Is the EREV going to be a flop?

I have a similar thought process. If on a long road trip you spend a couple of hours extra charging, how much time for the rest of the year when you are charging from home and not having to fill up with gas at all do you save in time. We do quite a lot of miles locally that is easily within the...

    A Gift From Scout Motors

I got mine at the start of this week, not sure where I'm going to put it yet so it lives in the envelope for now.
