  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

    Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

    How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

    Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

    So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

    Same here. Just drove our 2018 model 3 RWD Long Range from Chattanooga to Cincinnati and back. Did 4 charging stops each way and had ~30% battery left when we arrived at each stop. We were charged enough for the next stop before we were finished using the bathroom each time. If we had driven...

    What do you all do? Curious about Scout buyers occupations, or former occupations.

    Long term disability claims specialist to fund my various projects (off grid cabin, cedar strip canoe, mahogany runabout, etc). In a former life I taught math and coached swimming. I would love to figure out how turn my projects into my income, but haven’t quite solved that equation yet.

    Scout Motors announces in-vehicle satellite connectivity and highlights Scout Community UX interface at CES 2025

    If they aren’t producing until 2027, and delivering until 2028, then my bet is they are going to take the path of least resistance and just use standard cell phone tech to connect with ASTS, either as a service provider partnering directly with ASTS, or through an existing provider like AT&T or...

    Define your lifestyle….

    42 yom. Work in insurance. Own 20 acres of off grid mountain top property in SE TN where I’ve built my own cabin by hand. I currently drive an LX 570, and it has been the work horse hauling all of the materials (up to 1,000 lbs per load) on its roof rack up to the property, or daily driving me...

    Will harvester models be "maintenance free" like their EV siblings?

    I’m very much hoping this is the case, and I totally understand producing what the market demands, so given reservations seem to overwhelmingly favor harvester it makes sense they would focus initial production there. I’m just really excited about my BEV Terra and as a day one reservation...

    Will harvester models be "maintenance free" like their EV siblings?

    Has anyone heard anything about this: https://www.theautopian.com/scout-to-reportedly-build-hybrid-trucks-first/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=scout-to-reportedly-build-hybrid-trucks-first

    Lexus LX/Tesla3 ==> Terra BEV

    Sounds to me like you’re saying a very lucrative market might be figuring out a universal BMS (either through partnership or clever work around) to enable battery upgrades, much like putting a small block 350 in a ‘58 Buick.

    Lexus LX/Tesla3 ==> Terra BEV

    Absolutely! I’m simply excited about upgrading to even greater mileage per charge so that the vehicle gets better as it passes through generations, much like ICE broncos and Land Cruisers from the 60’s have by upgrading engines, suspension systems, etc, but with the added extremes/benefits that...

    Lexus LX/Tesla3 ==> Terra BEV

    We put over 300,000 miles on our LX 470 (running like new when we traded it in, just couldn't handle 1,000 lbs of lumber on top like the 570) before trading it in for our current 570 (which is now at about 110,000 and just getting broken in). I imagine whatever battery SM releases with the BEV...

    Lexus LX/Tesla3 ==> Terra BEV

    Keeping the Lexus to give to my son when he starts driving in two years. Figured it was smart to diversify the portfolio.

    Lexus LX/Tesla3 ==> Terra BEV

    We currently own a 2014 Lexus LX and 2018 Tesla Model 3. We have reserved a Terra BEV. From everything I’ve read, both the traveler and Terra seem to combine everything I love about both our vehicles into one. I do hope that scout makes it easy to swap/upgrade batteries (and allow them to be...

    Gate/parking fees

    Yeah, that’s where I imagine community UX would play a part. Not much different than using your cell phone. It could be an app in community UX that you have to open as the driver before the camera would even read the qr code.
