  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Driving Sounds

Just to be clear, by “driving sounds” in this thread, I’m referring to the sounds heard inside the vehicle, not sounds for pedestrians.

    Driving Sounds

I don’t believe the vehicles should be silent. I believe they should engage all the senses and that sound should reinforce the connection between the driver and the machine. Copying a combustion engine is a bad idea, but it should share certain qualities. If you hate the sounds, there could...

    Driving Sounds

Respectfully, I’m not making any suggestion for an upvote (this isn’t an upvote thread). While I recall a lot of discussion about pedestrian warning sounds, I don’t recall much about driving sounds. I did a search before I posted a new thread to be certain there is no other thread on this...

    Driving Sounds

Since an EV is almost silent the driving experience can be enhanced with artificial driving sounds. Such sounds are designed to make driving feel fun and make the driver feel connected to what the machine is doing. I recently watched an Audio Engineering Society event from earlier this year in...

Harvester - Request to allow it to charge battery while parked & a 30-40amp/240v outlet

I think people can simply be reminded/warned that they can't run an engine in their garage and perhaps see that warning every time they use the feature. There are a various safety considerations around generators. People have actually died from a generator that was outside but too close to an...

    Super Bowl Commercial?

There would be no point with a big ad campaign until the vehicles are closer to shipping. Just think of the other publicity stunts they could pull with $7,000,000. They could give away 100 free trucks for far less!

    Super Bowl Commercial?

Here’s an idea. What about having a documentary producer come in and make a documentary about the process of testing the prototype trucks to validate the design? That way potential customers can watch the trucks tested in various ways to ensure they are tough, capable and reliable. This could...

    Super Bowl Commercial?

I’m sure they’ll spend the advertising money wisely. I loved the part of the reveal when Scott said their contractor wanted to build a roof over the reveal area just in case it rained but they decided it would be too costly so took the risk of a wet reveal. This gives me some confidence that...

    Scout Security System?

Years ago, a buddy of mine would pop the hood after he parked and disconnect something from the engine, I think it was the lead between the coil and distributor cap (or something like that). Anyway, good luck to any thief trying to start his car!

Scout’s re-launch has been excellent and the reveal was enthusiastically well recieved. Contrast this with Jaguar. The media are still not allowed to talk about the new vehicle they were shown but what they are saying about the event is scathingly negative. see...

    Audio system

Comsol just released an updated version of their multi-physics simulation software. This is the industry standard for acoustics. The new software better models the effects of materials such as carpet in the vehicle cabin. For more information and to see an animation of a automotive cabin...

    Audio system

There’s car audio news today from Bose. They have acquired the McIntosh group. This should mean great things for automotive audio. The McIntosh CEO says "Gaining access to [Bose] expertise as a pioneer in automotive audio will also help us accelerate our presence and enable us to deliver...

I had to push start a manual with a flat battery many times. I guess those days are coming to an end with electric powertrains.

Charge port at front, passenger side

I think it’s going to go on the side where the electric breaker is. I’d just reverse into the garage if that makes it easier. It makes sense to me for the charge port to go near the sidewalk. Future infrastructure will surely have more sidewalk chargers, so I think putting it near the sidewalk...

More lift, less lift, or just right.

It doesn’t look like the Cybertruck has much articulation. The front passenger wheel came off the ground and rear driver side wheel has no traction. It would be better if the driver side front wheel lifted higher but it seems the springs are too stiff to allow it move further?

Entry Model Specs, Premium Model Price?

The base models probably have 32 in tires, spare underneath, no tire carrier, cloth seats, no Harvester, metal roof, no wood in the interior. What else?

Entry Model Specs, Premium Model Price?

The annual rate of inflation is currently at 2.6% (measured over the past 12 months Oct - Oct). The vehicles are expected to launch in 3 years or less. If the inflation rate stays constant, $46,255 dollars today costs $50,000 in 3 full years time. Responsible vehicle manufacturers look many...
