  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Good news reminder.... With Scout, we have the JV with Rivian. Can't think of a better domestic tech partner to get this flywheel spinning. Hopefully the partnership pays dividends for BOTH Scout & Rivian, and we can keep innovating & competing domestically. Even if the US fails to reward its...

Maybe a lil Scout in the rounded nose? Those look like suicide doors, so you would need to open the front to release the back (no handle). The steering wheel is awful and the headrests just float in mid-air. And if you thought Teslas were bad with all touch screen, this thing takes the...

Negative! 100%. So the real answer is probably a little of both..

    Lexus RZ chronicals-by my wife

Whats going on here? Is that a "car"? 😁 JK - Congrats and hope she likes it... You can get all of your EV Torque angst out on this thang when she's not looking. Then you can ease yourself right into your new Scout and not feel the need to LAUNCH YOURSELF from every stop light.

Maybe the miniature spare tire hanging off the back? This one gets another big "thank you, but no thank you" from me... Still have not seen anything that comes close to touching Scout or Rivian, and its a PHEV apparently too.

Music to my ears, Jamie! Love it... Everyone wins.

    The Start/Stop Button

My take away (from all of these threads on START BUTTON) is that there are a lot of misconceptions about why a START Button is needed (or not needed) in a modern EV with a great UI and configurations, and that people can be very reluctant to change or try new things. This is expected. Many...

    The Start/Stop Button

Agreed - that was not "normal" experience in Normal... That employee should be fired - that sounds like a poor experience for sure, not to their standard.
  9. R1TVT

    The Start/Stop Button

Yes, and with no button, and provided you have made a handshake with the truck either with proximity or any kind of "unlock event", that person can simply DRIVE without any extra step. And there is no interaction with a touch screen. This came up in an earlier thread. No START means faster get...

    I think I see "Scout Mountain"! 🤘

    The Start/Stop Button

Agreed, but I think they meant for actual functional things that needed buttons... ;-)

    The Start/Stop Button

With SW, settings and different modes (like Camp Mode) you can do all kinds of variations on "OFF". Definition of OFF in an EV is different than turning a mechanical engine off, then have the 12 V battery ON. That is the nice thing about modern vehciles... There can be many different variations...

100%... Talk about not skating to the puck. Let everyone that wants to buy gas & diesel jump on that thing. They can have it. No problem!

New Traveler Color Concept - Satin White Traveler

These lights (at least on other vehicles that have them, including my R1T) would turn "ON" when the vehicle is parked and unlocked (as part of a lighting setting) FYI. So, they would likely remain un-lit when in DRIVE (not making the vehicle more visible to other motorists). Either way, looks...

They will be lucky if "they don't have to shut down for good"? Where do you come up with this stuff??? Zero reason why sustaining wind damage to what appears to be part of a loading dock at one of many their campus buildings would cause an entire company to shutter. o_O If that were the...

Primary concern is cleaning snow and ice and clearing hood in winter (and them not being truly functional), but if stuff sticking out of the hood gave me a better drag coefficient, well, it might be easier to consider the trade-off!

Maybe keep them on the Traveler! LOL. Anything non-functional that also creates drag goes in the bed of my pick up truck

Actual delay official and order of deliveries confirmed?

Agreed, since it is not even a choice at this stage. you can ONLY get a Bolt. The thing that Rivian has going for it with its own "vapor ware" is that the R3 is probably much further along its path to production (at this point) than the R1 was at the time when they took the trucks out for the...
